Yes, I discovered this some time ago, and it does work.  But (like many functions on this new board!) the old way was so much simpler and more direct.  Sorry, folks.  Something that was easy and obvious is now circuitous and requires figuring out and multiple steps.  Also, when I "quote" a previous post, there is  no box or other mechanism to set the quote apart from my comment below.  I've been italicizing quotes myself to set them apart.  In no way is any of this "improvement".

 And these new icons are ugly and less expressive than the old ones, too.  So there.

thanks so much for the help- when i clicked on the links you all provided, i then had to poke around a bit, but then it did show up the way it should, and i did bookmark it... have no clue why it wasn't showing already for me, and without your help, i don't know how i would have found it.

it's not just that things are 'different'- it's that many things are not functioning correctly, logically or uniformly. and that's why so many are having such trouble. i think it's too many changes at once, and many of us can't handle this mess very well.

 i can see for sure now that about 95% of my posts are gone, whole threads not carried over it seems. i expected some of that...

I entered my addy in the search box selected users .... now I see my posts but they are in a wacky random order.
