Re: Help! I need a $25 gift idea

This sounds more like a White Elephant and they would prefer it not be a gift card.  It's more fun when it's a gift.

Scratch Off Lottery Tickets are always fun.

A lot of people will do wine, but how about a bottle of Champagne that they could use for NYE?  Even if they don't drink it on NYE, they can make mimosas over the holidays at breakfast.

A garden center or florist will have a gift box of amaryllis or tulips that you can force indoors over the winter.  These places tend to have nicer ones in nice pots.  Grocery Stores/Target/Walmart have cheap ones that I don't think are as nice of a gift.

Thanks to all for your suggestions.  They are all really good ideas. You are helping lift me out of the bah humbug mood I am in.

@VaBelle35 You are probably correct about the white elephant thing.

@lizzys

Last year I went to a Christmas party where it was "steal" a gift.  (You could choose a new gift under the tree or "steal" from someone who already had their turn).  The gifts "stolen" most often were throws ... purchased from Costco and Sam's Club.  Everyone really wanted them but they could only be "stolen" three times and the last person was "safe".  There are some nice choices this year everywhere.

@janz Great!  It is always good to know the most stolen (popular) present at the party!

One of those car tools that you use to break the window and cut your seat belt. I keep one in the pocket thing on the driver's door. Sometimes in an accident the door won't open and you need to get out, a fire perhaps.

Night driving glasses that reduce glare from the lights of oncoming traffic, I've got those too.

@janz,We went to one of those holiday dinners and got an acrylic pile throw.  I LOVE that thing!  It's the softest ever!  My dog and I would snuggle up and watch tv on the couch.  He would also grab it when I was gone and snuggle up!

Love the throws idea. I may do that next year. This year I gave a $25 car wash certificate. A new place where you can drive through and vacuum your own, or hand over your car and allow car wash personnel to thoroughly clean inside & out. It was stolen for the 3rd time. Even the men got in on that one.
