Wow, I guess I'm odd man out here. It would never occur to me to get a gift for someone I've never even met who just happens to be my brother's latest girlfriend. Thus, I'm sorry but I have no suggestions. 🤷‍♀️

@pupwhipped funny my mom said the same thing.

Is it a burden to select and wrap up a gift?  Most of these suggestions are in the $10-$20 range.  It just seems hospitable to me.

I'm so glad the adults in my family decided long ago no more gift giving.

@walkingal I can understand that. Three years ago we were reunited so this is all new to us. I am sure years down the road we will stop at some point.

@RollTide2008 It is difficult to come up with ideas not knowing the person, that is why I posted this. By all means I do want to be welcoming to this person.

Do you have a World Market store nearby?   i flew to the west coast last Holidays and had never met my son's inlaws before they came for Xmas to my son and DIL's house last year. i gave a nice resuable Holiday gift bag from World Market, some pretty forest-scented birch and pine soap bars, tins of mints  and a bottle of white wine.

they did not gift me but thats OK i had fun shopping for the gifts! World Market has so many gift ideas!

@CatsyCline Wish we had a World Market.

My one brother is bringing his new girlfriend. All of my siblings have met her but I have not. I don't want this to be awkward for either one of us by her not having something to open from me, what should I do?

Buy her a candle.  Avoid lotions, perfume, soaps since people can be sensitive to those.

Be glad you have somewhere to go. This will be my first Christmas alone.

@CalminHeart I am very happy to spend the day with my siblings, we were reunited just a few years ago.

@panda1234  If it was me, I'd give a nice Christmas decoration.  I would not give anything with a "scent" since I've read too many replies on this board from women saying they have had horrible reactions to scents even a light one.  You could do a set of cute Christmas mugs, a pretty light up decoration, a snowglobe etc.  I would avoid any type of lotions, bath items etc.  Put the decoration in a pretty gift bag and call it a day.  No need to sweat it.  There are some really cute and pretty decorations out there.  Including candy dishes, glasses, mugs, but since people can have sensitivities I'd avoid anything "skin" oriented.

@eadu4 Keeping away from scents is good advice. Thank you for your suggestions.

She's gonna feel really awkward receiving all those gifts and she has nothing to reciprocate.

@rms1954 Yes, that's the otherside of the coin. An funny situation.

I would have a gift for her under the tree. It is a welcoming gesture whether or not she is his girlfriend next year. A nice unscented hand cream would be something she could use in winter. The ornament idea is a good one so that she can remember her first Christmas with your family.  I wouldn't fret too much about what you get her. She will be happy you included her.

@On It That's true it is the thought that counts.

I would get her a small Visa gift card to get what she likes.

@ECBG Do you think $25 is enough?

Are the people who have met her or your brother have any suggestions??  I would want to have something for her even if I never met her.  I think I got my future SIL, who I had never met, a pair of gloves for our first Christmas together.  We lived in the Northeast at the time.

I think a nice pair of gloves is a perfect gift. Who doesn’t need a few pairs. I have a few different jackets, and coats I wear, and I like having a pair in the pocket ready to go.
