Love you so much! ![]()

To Autumn
John KeatsSeason of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells.
Who hath not seen thee oft amid thy store?
Sometimes whoever seeks abroad may find
Thee sitting careless on a granary floor,
Thy hair soft-lifted by the winnowing wind;
Or on a half-reap'd furrow sound asleep,
Drows'd with the fume of poppies, while thy hook
Spares the next swath and all its twined flowers:
And sometimes like a gleaner thou dost keep
Steady thy laden head across a brook;
Or by a cyder-press, with patient look,
Thou watchest the last oozings hours by hours.
Where are the songs of Spring? Ay, where are they?
Think not of them, thou hast thy music too,--
While barred clouds bloom the soft-dying day,
And touch the stubble-plains with rosy hue;
Then in a wailful choir the small gnats mourn
Among the river sallows, borne aloft
Or sinking as the light wind lives or dies;
And full-grown lambs loud bleat from hilly bourn;
Hedge-crickets sing; and now with treble soft
The red-breast whistles from a garden-croft;
And gathering swallows twitter in the skies.
@PA Mom-mom, Thank you for the Poem! The White Oaks are beautiful! I know that you think of your father every time you look at them, standing straight and sturdy. ![]()

@San Antonio Gal wrote:I will miss the green grass and flowers of spring/summer, along with the longer days of daylight.
Not looking forward to the dreariness of winter and darkness coming at 5 pm daily.
Dear @San Antonio Gal, I'm sorry that you'll miss the summer. Don't be discouraged, it will be back. I hope the Fall season will bring you a lot of fun times and joy! ![]()

@mousiegirl wrote:@Sassy7356 We don't get really cold weather until Winter, so our Fall is Indian Summer, my favorite weather. Leaves won't drop for months when the weather is cool.
@mousiegirl, It's the same down here in my neck of the woods. It stays warm for a long time after Fall arrives and the chilly weather finally decides to visit. I look forward to the chilly weather very much! ![]()

@Sweet Caroline 1 How kind of you to recognize my feelings for my dad and the Keats poem. Dad passed on to us a special connection to our natural world. I don't know how to explain it, but I see him every time I look at that beautiful tree.![]()
ETA: But, Dad also wanted us to see the trees as they turned. The hickory trees, the sugar maples, the sweet gums, the flaming red maples. Sometimes I almost run off of the road looking at God's creation!

@PA Mom-mom, There is beauty in your Spirit. I also have a huge connection to the earth, God's creations and his animals. They are each, amazing. The seasons know what to do, the living things know how to prepare. All have their own natural instincts to know what to do. Amazing! ![]()

Good evening everyone! Here we are at the beginning of Autumn. To me, it brings a lot of joy that the heat of Summer is going to give us a much needed break. Even if you didn't know what month it is, the feeling in the air still lets you know that Autumn is taking it's turn. No wonder most people love Fall the most.
I shopped for groceries very early this morning and the rest of the day was basicly a day of rest with a nap. I'll be getting the laundry going again and seeing what else there is to do.
Have a Blessed evening and I wish you all a peaceful and relaxing night. Love ya! ![]()
