Friends, This is a picture of my home. All of those leggy trees on your right with vine growing up are gone. The Oak Leaf's are there in the front but have lost their leaves for the season. You can kind of see how tall they are. And they protude way out too. Those are getting cut down as close to the ground as I can manage with my pole saw.
As you can see, my house is surrounded by the back yards of others. The large trees on your left are not on my property. Also, my house looks a lot better since I got the new gutters and the soffets were painted. A work in progress.

This is the flower that I couldn't remember. They are a wildflower called Cosmos. So pretty and whimsical. They would be in pots.

@Sweet Caroline 1 You have a good sized house. I see your truck. My house sits on a hill also, and if you can believe it, my driveway is much steeper than yours. It was great exercise for my legs when I would go down every day for mail and packages, bought a little dolly on Q, and it has been wonderful, a little powerhouse. now DH does that.
Keep some trees for privacy and nature to look at. Trees were overplanted here, and too close to the house, so had to remove some on the front walk as they were pushing in the gutter. It is so costly here to remove a tree. Around five trees have fallen over in storms, they were old and the type that don't run so deep.

A Blessed Saturday to you! It's a good day here today. I couldn't sleep last night so I took a little Nyquil and then slept like a baby. I just finished a egg salad sandwich for breakfast. It's Saturday, bath day.
Then I hope to go out front and begin cutting back the Oak Leaf Hydrangea. They are gorgeous but they are really huge for the front of my house and I worry about them growing into my septic tank.
Last night I was on line looking at petite shrubs and flowers. So far I really like the Bobo Hydrangia, it likes sun and tolerates heat and grows to about 4ft tall. And there is a flower that I loved the look of but right now I can't think of the name of it. I plan to plant into large pots instead of the ground for easier maintenance.
I guess that's all I have for now. Have a Happy and Wonderful day! Love and Cozy Hugs!
@Sweet Caroline 1 If possible, could you post pictures of your hydrangeas, I love them, and the type you are planning to cut down, are fabulous, and I am sure I will be jealous if I see them.

Your house is pretty much as I pictured, you are good at describing! It seems like you have some privacy and breathing room on that side of the home, couldn't tell on the other side if neighbors were close. I am close to neighbors but then I live in a townhome and around the lake they got in as many lots as they could squeeze in. I saw the wreaths on your windows I think. My dad always looked for a home on top of a hill as he said you will probably not get water in your basement. It's a good thing you don't get much ice in Alabama unless it's those masked guerillas invading cities, ha. I just can't help myself sometimes, guess I watch too much South Park.

@hullie Bijou is funny wanting to bark at the seagulls on TV. My first Jack Russell knew the song "Happy Birthday " meant he got treats also. Even if he heard it on TVhe would bark at it.
Everyone: It was warmer so after morning walks, lunch, taking my son the newspaper and shopping she had her bath. It was cloudy so no sunshine for her it dry in her window. She's wrapped in a baby blanket.
Her laundry is washing.

@Sweet Caroline 1 Now I can really understand why you are careful going down your driveway! You are really on a hill! That grass must be hard to cut. Be careful.
Our house when we were stationed in Atlanta was on a similar hill. During an ice storm cars were sliding down the street.
I wish I could post photos to show mine. It has many angles and is hard to discribe. It looks different with the huge Beech trees removed. But I like the new three. Sometimes it's good to change. 🏡
