Has anyone tried Metamucil appetite control?

My doctor recommended it so today I was at the drug store & picked some up.

@151949 I actually just saw a commercial for this yesterday and was wondering the same thing?

Curious to hear your comments in a couple of weeks, or for those that have already tried this!

It's pure fiber, so it could work as appetite control.

Reminds me of those commercials selling prunes as "dried plums"

A rose by any other name........

Be prepared for the side effects.

And no, I have never taken a fiber product

Re: Has anyone tried Metamucil appetite control?

I have tried it on the recommendation of my doctor for regularity due to years of no luck with others products or medications.  I have only been on it three weeks and have not gained any weight and only lost about two pounds, could do to lose about 12!  It is working quite well for what the doctor suggested it.  I will watch this blog and update if results change.  I am also interested in results on this.

My DH takes regular metamucil every day to control his post hemicolectomy diarrhea. It works beautifully for that. All in all since his illness started in Feb. he has lost about 50 pounds but that included weeks of diarrhea and his surgery and all.

Just eat real food.

So much more satisfying than water.

Meta supplement (2 servings) has the same about of calories & fiber

in a 1/2 cup of cooked lentils....or a medium size head of lettuce.

A.l.o.t. more satisfying, and no aspartame/additives,

than a powdered supplement.

Plus real food will have protein (lettuce has 5 grams of protein!),

vitamins & minerals.

On the recomendation of my gastrointerologist I take fiber every morning to help control my irritable bowel disease.  It helps that, but as far as weight loss I have not experienced that.

The only difference I can see in them is the weight loss one has flavoring in it and regular metamucil does not.

Is there something in this Metamucil besides psyllium?
