@sidsmomSids.....just what I was going to say when I got to your comment.
@151949 Why don't doctors face the reality of whole foods....no need for supplementation. I eat so many fruits/veggies, I don't need Metamucil. Legumes are chock full of fiber. Better to look at your diet than purchasing a supplement. If you eat volume and quality whole foods, there is little need for appetite suppressant. I think you will be happier and healthier on a whole food plant based program.

So much more satisfying than water.
Meta supplement (2 servings) has the same about of calories & fiber
in a 1/2 cup of cooked lentils....or a medium size head of lettuce.
A.l.o.t. more satisfying, and no aspartame/additives,
than a powdered supplement.
Plus real food will have protein (lettuce has 5 grams of protein!),
vitamins & minerals.

I'ts high fiber so makes you feel full but how much can you take in one day? Most overweight people don't eat because they're hungry. There are a myriad of reasons but hunger is not one of them. Just increase the high fiber foods you eat and get the same effect.

I was hungry about 30 minutes ago but it's too early for dinner. I ate a slice cuke with a little dressing drizzed on it and a tangerine. That's the type of fiber that keeps me full.

Can't believe any doctor would reccomend this product. Was this for weight loss or something else?

Of course MDs recommend Metamucil! Fiber helps many issues!!
As for using it for weight loss, yes, it does make you feel fuller. The doc that wrote South Beach Diet mentions it, too.
