Re: Hairdresser texting during appointment

Spoiler
It seems this is a common problem now. My stylist has a teenage daughter who calls her constantly asking for this or that....and she always answers. My stylist is the best around but I am about to find someone else...I don't pay to come in and listen to her mom/daughter talk.

Re: Hairdresser texting during appointment

I had a stylist who texted thoughout the color process. I could hear her she would stand behind me and text.  Sometimes I would be talking to her and I could hear tap tap tap.  Then a bunch of the stylists would go to the mixing room with her and hang out in there.  The last time I went to her she overprocessed my bayalage sections because she had disappeared out back.  Now I had been going to her for a few years at that point. Never went back to her after she botched my color.

I don't think this is a common problem at all.  I've never experienced it, and haven't ever heard about it from family, friends, or co-workers.  I've only read about it here in this thread.  And lots of posters have said it's never happened to them and they wouldn't tolerate it.

I completely agree that it's wrong.  And you're right - I would feel the same way about paying to listen to mother/daughter conversations that were obviously the stylist's priority.  But I think most stylists have the common sense to realize that it's rude to to that, so I really disagree that this problem is prevalent.

Re: Hairdresser texting during appointment

@shoppingless, Not to hijack your thread, but I had an extremely talented hairdresser that stayed on the phone all the time, giving advice even though she was cutting my long hair!  (Yikes!)  I had to say "excuse me" several times.  Finally, fed up.  I never made another appointment.
