I also feel bad for those who want to use this in a good way. There needs to be a way, however, to secure this whole app since we know China owns it now and gathers info from each user's phone, even info not given to TT. Once our own national security is taken care of, TT away for those who love it. Personally, I won't go near this app as I don't care to give China access when we know that's what they are doing.

Reading some of these posts SCARES me!!!😁 I was not aware of the issues associated with it because I know people that use it and LOVE it!❤ Time for me to have a chat with them, and tell them of the need to educate themselves so they can separate fact from fiction!🥰

I don't use TikTok, I understand that some make money from that app so that woud be a problem for them. I listen to a lot of news and what I hear is confusing. If a 100% American company purchased/owned it I would feel better about the app.

I think I'll be all right. I've never watched it and don't have plans to start. I was at a bar once where the bartender was so enthralled over TikTok that she couldn't serve drinks. She was watching and laughing, oblivious to anyone around her. She was in her mid-20s and I was so surprised to realize that someone would be so interested in watching her phone instead of what was happening around her.

I've survived without tiktok and plan to continue without it. I also rarely look at anything on youtube. I go on 1 social media site and that's enough for me.

I investigated fraud for 20 years. I have very little to no trust in these and other social media sites. The cookies, scams, and viruses are too risky for me.

All this said, the government does not belong in a lot of areas it seems to want to control.

As popular as TikTok has become, somebody will definitely jump on the opportunity to create a similar app, if in fact it is banned. My DH watches it all the time. Some is dumb, some is very strange, but some is quite interesting. I guess we’ll see what happens.
