I just purchased a beautiful tote bag, but the bottom has no support.

I put a few things in it , and bottom sags.

What could I do?  Where would I get it fixed to have a bottom?

Does it have a flat bottom that forms a square or is it just a seam joining the front and back?

If it is the former I would measure and cut a piece of heavy duty cardboard to fit and put that in there to try it out. You might even try doing it with a sturdy piece of plastic.

Cut a piece of cardboard or foamboard (dollar store) and then cover it with matching/coordinating fabric either stitched or just use hem tape.

I've cut a sturdy piece of cardboard to fit into the bottom.  Works just fine.  As previously suggested, you could cover it with fabric or contact paper if you want it to look nice but just the cardboard works for me.

There are organizer inserts for tote bags that provide structure and sections so that everything isn't rolling around at the bottom of the tote.

I would cut a piece of cardboard, and I would cover it with contact paper to make it water resistant.  Hope you can make it work.

Are you talking about a purse type tote bag or a shopping bag type tote bag?

its a Madewell Tote bag.  It is woven fabric.  So I would not be able to get same fabric

Glanced at the Madewell site and based on those prices, there's no way I'd keep a bag I spent that much money on if I wasn't totally thrilled. There are plenty of other totes out there that don't sag when they have things in them.

But does it have a flat bottom? All my totes have flat bottoms and they are sturdy enough so that nothing moves around. Only one I've had to reinforce with a piece of cardboard.
