I was 31 when I had my son and 35 when I had my daughter.  I love my children dearly but raising them was the hardest thing I've ever had to do and my DH was a wonderful father through it all. They were basically good and are good adults too, no major problems, just the regular ups & downs.  I always want to applaud single parents because I don't think I could've handled being a single parent.
