My best gift is dinner out for steak or lobster or both! I cook almost every night and enjoy dressing a bit fancy (even though everyone else wears jeans to the nice restaurants now...a pet peeve of mine) and being served a delicious meal and leave the dishes on the table and pots in their kitchen.

From friends I received a couple mystery novels, a fleece shirt, and a small box of cookies and nuts. My favorite gifts. Reading mysteries and keeping warm with something to snack on, great way to spend the darkest months of winter.

Don't feel sorry. We don't need or want anything for Christmas. I have enough jewelry, and everything else. Being romantic has nothing to do with buying stuff. 

Too bad the true meaning of Christmas has been forgotten.

it was a good and busy christmas holiday. we had extra people here for a few days. i felt like i never left the kitchen! LOL i feel like it is JUST ending actually. my decorations are still up and i am enjoying them and a little bit of peace.

i got some cold hard cash.....always appropriate!
