I am called by my first name.  It is Gramma Bonnie.  NO problem. My husband is Grampa Jerry.  As long as they include the G" part I am okay.

Adding another comment.  I appreciate when they call me or contact me by emai, social media, etc.  Communicating with me is what I feel good about.

Maternal grandparents we called Grandmother and Grandfather and Paternal grandparents were called Mama Grande and Papa Grande (Spanish pronunciation)

When you said "those kids now call us by our first names", I thought they were very young and just starting to talk. But they are preteens and have been calling you by your first name for 10+ years against your wishes? Seems futile at this point.

We could not wait to be a grandparents, we have a 16 month old grandson (Memaw and Papa) and he just started trying to say Memaw. Although it sounds more like Mawmaw right now but he definitely knows I am his Memaw and I love it.  He can say Papa very clear and Papa can't stop smiling.
