We have three beautiful Kincade paintings, we met him in Santa Rosa,Ca he was such a nice person. I guess this was before his problems. Anyway we enjoy the paintings we have.

@Catiele I love those Christmas with snow ones but never was lucky to find one in my budget. My first and favorite is Carmel - Sunset on Ocean Avenue. I used to vacation there once a year and my husband at the time bought it for Christmas for me.
I especially like the golden retriever (at least it looks like one to me) in the picture. Reminds me of happy times and a beautiful town. But that one is smaller then the ones from the estate sale this weekend - The one below that I have is about 16x20 before the frame.

@CAcableGirl2 I don't own any TK pieces but have always appreciated how pretty they are. I love looking at all the details and would love to have one depicting each season. Enjoy your new purchase!

@Pantsonfire2 The comment about Martha might have been a catalyst for the comments about his habits, just an observation.

@CAcableGirl2 wrote:@rockygems123 I got the 2nd one today that I had mentioned last night. My sister got it when the sale opened this morning and snagged it in the first 5 minutes of today's sale. $95 for the 2nd one - huge like the other one, the original receipt was included. It was over $1200 with tax back in 1997.
Both have pretty gold frames (not what I would normally get), but how can I resist such a great price.
My sister told me another couple was there buying the last one (I didn't care for that one), and would have probably purchased mine if she hadn't been there! She went in the house and raced over to the living room to be first in line! Gotta love my sister - always on the hunt for a bargain.
Here is today's bargain at LESS THEN $100!!
Yay!! You go sis! That's the only way to do it be first in line. My business centers around estate sales and other buying sources, early bird gets the worm! Happy for you.

@AuntG wrote:You got a great deal. I have two of his framed prints and I see beauty and serenity in them. One comment particularly disturbed me because it focused on the artist's failings. I'd prefer to focus on his accomplishments.
@AuntG Many artists and authors have failings. We all know of one who managed to lose an ear. It's deep, reflective work, with a good deal of pressure for perfection, that can have negative consequences for some.
It can be sad, but for me, it makes the person all the more intriguing. In spite of his demons, TK was a very complex, talented man, who managed to leave behind a lot of enduring beauty. In that, his contributions will forever remain timeless and comforting, taking us away to another time and place, with every glance. So, his accomplishments will always live on.

Lovely point of view, @BlueFinch.
I vaguely recall reading something many years ago about why TK painted windows that glowed from the lights within.
Details might be wrong.
I think he'd said that they were raised by a single mom, & that he was always the 1st one to arrive home after school.
In winter time, he'd approach an empty, darkened house.
TK said that every time he'd turn the corner to go down their street, he'd make a wish that for just once, the lights would be on.
