Happy New Year!

It's still snowing here. I was going to shovel off my driveway and deck but what's the sense. I'll just wait a while. The squirrels are very active this morning! I think they are as happy as I am to see the snow. I see them playing in it....so cute!

@SilleeMee   @dancingwoman    Not a single flake here but very cold and windy.

You may or may not know we have the longest aerial tramway in the US right here in Albuquerque going to the crest of the Sandías.  It's a breath-taking ride.

Last night some tram and restaurant employees who work on the crest were riding down.  The rain had frozen on the cables and made the cable car sag to a dangerous level.  So 21 people were trapped in the car all night.  They were rescued this morning and removed from the mountain by helicopter.  How they got from the car to the ground is unclear but I'd probably still be up there.

@SilleeMee    Since they were are young, healthy types, I imagine they had a blast.  I just wonder if they had a toilet bucket?  Apparently there are supplies stored somewhere in those cars.

I was up there once with the whole family when a fierce thunderstorm came up.  We and about 100 other people had to wait several hours to come down.  There were many kids so my 11 year old great niece (the organizer) got crayons, paper and coloring books from the rangers and conducted an art lesson.  Bless her!

@dancingwoman @SilleeMee   Fantastic view of the city, especially at night.  I like to go up early in the evening, have dinner and come down after dark to see the city lights.

Put a ride in the Sandia Tram on your bucket lists.
