Re: Good advice for 20-somethings....

Did you take advice in your 20s?

I sure didn't

Re: Good advice for 20-somethings....

I was on my own basically from  age 17. I made a lot of mistakes.... but after all the years  ...and now age 64, I am  living very comfortable life  and  living well.

I did not go college...and many times I worked three jobs. Occasionally I was out of work and broke..sleeping on someone's sofa...but I always got back up and turned things around.

I met my  future husband  at age 28....  we started out with nothing but each other and both working minimum wage jobs. Now  married 40 years, we are both retired...own our  home and have a nice  comfortable retirement  future to look forward to.  But we had a long bumpy ride over those 40 years!  The stories I could tell!😄

I doubt I would have listened to someone tell me what to do in my 20's.  I am hard headed after all. But I took chances...and always found myself upright and headed in the right direction.

I would only offer this  advice to someone 20 something....

Trust your gut....be honest and fair...work hard.  And when the chips are down...pick yourself up and try harder!

My 18 year old self needed to have this list.

May I add, "You can't change anyone, you can only change yourself".

"Pay attention to the signs.".
