Happy Friday all,
Today I have my boot off to walk now. I see surgeon in a little over a week to see if PT necessary. I am going to use foot as much as I can to avoid that. It is stiff and slightly sore to walk but it is better without the topsy turvy ness of the boot. I might do a bit of grocery shopping today now that I can drive again. I'll use my cane to take some of the weight off my ankle until it limbers up some. Another terrific wind day today so I'm staying inside as much as possible. Jazmin is going camping with her mom this weekend so I hope the wind calms a bit for them. I would think it would be impossible to put a tent up with this wind. There is little that I like about camping and I have done none of it since playing in a tent in my parents back yard as a child. I don't remember if I stayed the whole night out in the tent with my friends so long ago but the memory isn't a bad one. I don't even like eating outdoors as the slightest breeze puts my long hair in any food that I open my mouth for. This is always a problem when I visit my friend in Omaha as she loves outdoor dining and we go out a lot, we both compromise. I do love being outdoors in all other aspects and I find excuses to be outside rather than do indoor chores in the summer.

Friday greetings to all my dear friends. I hope your Friday is happy and joyful. Have a great weekend.
Our morning started with fog, then a hard thunderstorm with fierce winds and downpours. Now it's sunny and blue skies with a temp of 70. It appears we'll have a high of 83 late this afternoon. Sounds good to me.

Their names are Anika, a keeshond, and Brodie, a cairn terrier. They were both certified therapy dogs who made quite a difference in the people and places they visited regularly. They both loved therapy trips and were always ready to go when the special scarves and leashes came out. We miss them both.

Thank goodness you're finally done with that big, heavy, clumsy orthopedic boot! Just be careful as you regain your steady balance and walking skills. Hopefully, all will go well as you continue to recover from your injuries.
Like you I am not a camping enthusiast. When I visit the mountains I prefer a well-appointed cabin with all the necessities, never a tent. I didn't even like camping as a kid. On the other hand Ed loved camping in all kinds of weather and hiking which is why he got involved with a Boy Scout Troop; he was an adult troop leader for over 21 years and loved working with youth.
Enjoy your trip to the grocery store but be prepared for a much higher cost of all items. I used to love to shop, not so much anymore. Take care and enjoy the warmer weather; however, I hope your winds die down. Enjoy the lake too.
Huggies and love to Biyou. ![]()

@hullie I love the outdoors but I prefer camping at a Hilton! Haha. I'm glad you can drive, just be extra careful. Glad you have a chance to get out.
@AnikaBrodie I wondered how you got you nic. Precious fur babies. How nice.
The handyman arrived and is putting the finishing touches on the new porch columns and two new porch lights. My dad improvised on the porch columns for years, I wanted them done right. My dad put shims under the columns. (For way too long!) We had the porch raised, and had the new columns on order. I'm so excited. Another thing off the of my "home" to do list.

In other words pace yourself OR take your time.

Happy Friday everyone, I hope today is good for all of us. I am washing bed clothes, and watching The Waltons. Love that series. My DH just left for work, and he won't return until around 8 this evening. We are on a unique schedule, but it works for us. I have dinner ready soon after he comes in, and we don't shut down for the night until around midnight.
I am planning bacon wrapped chicken breasts, mashed potatoes, spinach, and Rhodes rolls for dinner.
We have 90 degree temps here, and are enjoying the air conditioner. ![]()
Sending love across the miles to you all.
