@Sweet Caroline 1 , I am glad you are enjoying these. I have always loved the sweet moon. As a child, I would look up and wonder at the mystical beauty. All of us, no matter where we are, see the same moon. That connects us.

@Sassy7356 & all: Every Morher's day I recall getting ready for Sunday school. I walked about a mile to Church.

She told me to wait while she picked a red rose from the front rose bush and fastened it to my jacket with a pearl hat pin. She told me that on Mother's Day a red rose means your Mother is living and a white rose means she's with Jesus.
I was always proud wearing the red roses. Although I don't have rose bushes now I wear a gold pin that's shaped like a rose in her memory on Mother's Day.

Vector mothers day

Happy Mothers Day darling friends! I've been enjoying reading all of your beautiful posts and cards. I hope that all of you have been having a wonderful day. I started out posting this morning and then I got side tracked. I went to WM early this morning for a few groceries and then I enjoyed looking through their departments like flowers and linens. Linens are a weakness of mine. Then I stopped to put some gas in the truck and came home.

I've called or texted the mothers in the family and that has been my day so far. I still need to get a few more groceries inside. Last night it rained and early this morning it just poured down rain. When the rain cleared, I went on to the store while it wasn't raining. It's rained every day for 10 days now and we expect rain for several more days. I long for a sunny day.

At the store I bought a single bottle of chocolate milk and I think I'll close for now and enjoy it. Have a happy day darling friends! Love you!

Your love of chocolates milk reminds me of my sister. I have brought it to her a couple times when visiting.

Hi all, very windy here today. I hate the wind and being out in it worse than any other climate condition. I hope to get some bookwork done today, I have to be in the mood for it. Bijou isn't feeling well today. Maybe I will just sit and comfort him on my lap, his favorite place to be.

@1Snickers I love your rose story. My mom passed many things like that down to me as well.

I'll share a few memories of Isabella, my dear mother.

Foods: Before I was born mother worked for a county jail and served as the head cook. The men hated their jail time, but loved her cooking! She loved to cook and enjoyed making special meals for her family. My PA Dutch grandmother taught her well. Fortunately, I have some of her recipes ... "a pinch of this and a pinch of that".

Several years ago Nelson (my brother) added an addition to our home. I always served lunch and one day I made an apple crisp dessert. As he ate it he noted he had never had an apple crisp as good as this one. As I began to cry I told him, Yes, you've had this recipe before ... it was our mother's. He took the recipe home with him that evening. Such a fond memory of both mother and her son/my brother.

Flowers: Our home was in the country and included a large front and back yard. Mother loved flowers and every spring she was out there planting so many flowers from one side of the yard to the other, front and back. I have photos to prove it.

Nurturing Love: Mother would always tuck me in bed at night. She would give me a hug and kiss, pull the covers over me, turn off the light and quietly close the door saying, sweet dreams. She did this every night without fail. I am so grateful for her love and sweet spirit.

Music: Mother shared with me her love of music at an early age. My older sister, mother and I would sing in church on occasion. My sister played the piano, mother had a beautiful alto voice, and I (at age 7 or 8) sang somewhere between soprano and alto. I still sing in church as a soprano soloist when the choir is in summer recess. I remember my mother's favorite hymn was "The Old Rugged Cross." Her favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 26:3, "Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusts in thee."

As you can imagine these are wonderful and inspirational memories of mother. They are also very emotional as I share them with dear friends. Neither life nor death can separate us. God bless you all.
