The "plus" came after my plan which was "Quick Success".   The plan is the first part of the book.

I'll bet "Plus" had more optional calories which is going to slow loss.

I hope everyone is doing well!  The Italian resturant was delicious but I was supprised at myself!

Half of my main course came home with me where I used to save a few bites for Shadow, American Bulldog!!!

What was one dinner became 2 dinners!  Great!  I won!!!!

I don't want bigger.  The WANT was the shocker to me!!!!

And Ladies, I hope all of us are doing well.  Is fall approaching you or do you live in a warmer climate?

Our temps are headed down are in the "back and forth" stage, cooler will win out.  I am thinking of pot roasts and stew in the crock pot.  I am roasting about two vegies a week in large quantities to reheat all week.  I also LOVE sauteed sweet onions and mushrooms to put on any meat and they go well on salmon patties as well.

If you do make salmon patties, try breaking up 4 saltines (to a 14? oz can of salmon) in your hand as opposed to using bread crumbs.  You will knock those carbs way down!  With the sauteed onions and mushrooms, you won't even want tarter sauce!

Please share any changes you have made that you are crazy about and love!

Re: Girls, Whom Among Us Did WW Exchange Programs Of the 1980's?

@ECBG :Thank you. DH and I are going thru a lot of changes. I have gained a few pounds. I am saying busy trying to decluttering the whole house. I started with what I dreaded the most: DH tv room and that took almost two weeks. I really cleaned the closet out - because could not close the door plus tried to reorganize everything. I cleaned the Chester drawers out- lined each drawer with contact paper. Couldn't find a masculine scent sachet packets but purchased fresh linen. I replaced the old plastic octagon shaped thingy used for his socks and purchased A44552C1-1E77-4216-B52F-E28BF06ED291.jpegD8ECF84B-5381-45ED-B55A-14B2A277EB14.jpeg

These two items and will tell DH extra birthday gifts since his birthday is on Saturday. Any excuse necessary to reorganize without to much protest from DH.

Plus friend took me shopping this week to look at carpet. We have been in this house 18 years without changing carpet. I wanted more laminate but DH hates it. Finally decided new carpet better than the old. I haven't purchased any carpet since the 1980's with our first house. Big decision we will go back Tuesday to return the carpet samples. We need to replace the living room, hall and den. Plus the den has 1/2 bathroom. I am ready to replace that tile and the vainly.... so many decisions. Wish that you and everyone posting could help me. Trying to stay with looped carpet since I use a walker and DH uses a walking cane.🤗❤️

You have been one busy little "Bee", Girl!!!

I will be happy to discuss decoration with you.  I taught Interior Design and wrote curriculum in that area.  Foods and Nutrition is in the area of my major, but my love is color and design.

You will certainly want a lower pile carpet for your walker.  I would ask what they have.  Also, dark carpet tends to show lint.  I haven't kept up with the carpet industry.

If you want to see some of my house, search in the box for 'Here's My Country Christmas".  The only change is I changed the brass lamps to hand made ginger jar lamps in off white.

and Ladies,

A word of caution.

In the fall, as temps drop, shadows get longer, and we begin to notice changes, the animals prepare for hibernation.  Nature pulls on us too and doesn't recognise we live in climate controlled homes and we don't need to "fatten up" for the winter (which makes me VERY sad in the spring because my white pants fit like a nightmare!!!).

Be diligent with your food lists, don't over do on portion control, sugar, or carbs because they will call!

If you can't make a good salad, roast frozen, squash, whole okra or Brussel sprouts.

Remember, 1/2 cup of noodles and rice under stir fry or spaghetti.  You won't notice, but your hips will!

@Gorgf

I tried my hand again (burned the first batch a while ago) with "roasted broccoli" the way they do in the restaurants.

I watched a bunch of videos, some blanched, some didn't.  I also had a goal of less oil.  They say "put a little oil" then glub, glub, glub, glub......"  Gee!....

I had frozen broccoli flowerettes that I got in fresh veggies.

I covered a heavy bake sheet (from Sams) with foil.

I sprayed the foil heavily with olive oil, salt and pepper, and placed the large flowerettes.

They thawed slightly for 1/2 hour and I could halve the larger ones.

I separated the larger pieces and sprayed.

I baked at 450 degrees for 15 min.,

Turned, baked another 10 minutes.

I then put under the broiler for about 2 minutes.

It was ok, DH liked it.  I personally could tell the broccoli was ever so slightly waterlogged from being frozen.

I think next time I will use fresh, (bake times will have to adjust), but fresh is a "bear" to deal with since I really have time to shop!!!

Has anyone been successful in roasting broccoli?  I was happy to find a way to get the cheese calories out!
