Re: Girls, Whom Among Us Did WW Exchange Programs Of the 1980's?

@ECBG : Weight watchers food scale model 3130- found one on eBay and just sent seller offer to purchase at reduced price.

Morning shopping trip- well no dukes , forgot the ranch mix. The produce was the worst I have seen. Tomatoes found 4 of the plumb size. Found 3 yellow squash and 3 zucchini, 4 good size bell peppers, 1 decent head of lettuce, no strawberries. The frozen vegetables section wiped out, no French cut green beans but 2 bags of whole green beans. We arrived at 8:15 am and left at 10:15. DH not happy. Body weight scales selection was different than what they listed as available. Better looking one was the Taylor digital glass scale, sign indicated $19.48 so grabbed it but later at cash register $24.99 and DH not waiting for them to check. I was looking for small packages of boneless chicken thighs none available, all I have in my freezer are the large family packs. Can fruits pitiful- none packed in water or no sugar added. Found one package of the 4 ounce serving size mandrian oranges - no sugar added- grabbed it thing could make smaller serving portions.Purchased Greek yogurt. Had one loaf of the diet bread. Food prep will be interesting but at least can consider this a start in cutting back and eating healthier. DH insisted eating out- seafood. They had no salads- truck hadn't arrive yet. My selection- baked fish and was approximately 6 ounces, no baked potato or French fries, gave hush puppies to DH. Waitress included 2 servings of cole slaw - not sweet and about 4 ounces, and two tall glasses of water. Breakfast was two bad choices of yogurt and not Greek or pecan swirl. I chose yogurt. I was up almost all night trying to read WW book and make grocery list. Right now not hungry but later will probably eat small portion of Greek yogurt with a small apple. Then start over again tomorrow.

@deb5555 Are you familair with the WW food scale SouthernBee got?  I was surprised it had no surface for the actual food.

She could add a large plastic lid off a cottage cheese container and zero it out, it probably was not included, the seller should of told her, not cool.

@SouthernBee GREAT going, SB!!!!

Very proud of you!!!  You might have better success at the grocery store if you go in about noon, when they have unloaded the truck.

Many lite fruits can be ordered from walmart as well as reduced cal Dukes.  So sorry it's been a pain.

I saw your scale on line and would have orderd that one myself if I needed one, so very good!Smiley Happy

Re: Girls, Whom Among Us Did WW Exchange Programs Of the 1980's?

At the WW meetings, they often talked about finding your Why?    Why are you doing this program... My Why is I want to lose 15- 20 lbs by Christmas.  I went on a 13 mile bike ride today and it feels so good!  We live by a bike trail, nice and safe.

Now is the perfect time of the year to get back on track, eat healthy and I am trying to drink more water, at least 8 glasses per day.

I roasted brussel sprouts with onions, baked at 425 degrees for 20 minutes, put some evoo on top with S+P . Just cut them in half and they are ready for the oven.

@SouthernBee I think you'll like this better.  Easy to knock a paper plate off of that other one.

You can return the other one or donate it.

@SouthernBee Are you ready to weigh in the morning and really get started?

Until you get your scale, you can use the size of your palm as your 6 oz of protein.  The lenght, width and thickness.

You have your measuring cups and measuring spoons.

Look up the measurements in the book.  Count your exchanges for the day.

Re: Girls, Whom Among Us Did WW Exchange Programs Of the 1980's?

@deb5555 My "Why" is I don't like how I feel when moving.  I was never aware of how my body felt moving before.  Not acceptable.  Period.

The lockdown was exceptionally difficult on me.  I am very social, I love to work with color and a lack of color makes me sad, I wasn't working, and had a loss that shook me to my roots.  The sugar was very soothing.  I couldn't have done it any better.

My goal is 30 lbs.

Re: Girls, Whom Among Us Did WW Exchange Programs Of the 1980's?

@SouthernBee Honey do you have a salad spinner?  You can run cold water through the top of a bunch of romaine, start pulling off the leaves, and pull the leaf from one side down the other.  Rip in to smaller pieces, place in salad spinner.  Put on the lid and "whirl" the lettuce.  The water will be thrown off.  Keep the whole thing in the fridge and after using the first time, put in a zip lock with a papertowel inside.  Gently press out the air.

It's what the factory washes the lettuce in that makes the bad odor when it goes bad.
