Just wanted to say I also use Carrabassett Coffee Company. I was introduced to it by a Dentist I work for. I could smell it brewing in his office and it smelled so good I asked him what Brand he used. He bought me a 5 pound bag of the Back Draft as a gift and I love it, my favorite coffee. The Dentist buy's me a bag every year as a gift. Could I ask what flavor you buy, would love to try others they carry.

@KittySoftPaws

That is interesting that you add salt to cut the bitterness. I will have to try that because for about the last six months, I have lost my taste for coffee because of the bitterness making me nauseous., especially first thing in the morning. If I wait until later in the day to have my one cup, it seems to taste better.

@Sapphiregal  Yep, it's the only way I make it. Makes all the difference. I grind my beans, then I grind my salt grinder couple times on top so it brews in with the coffee. Mellows it out and makes it taste smooth and delicious!

@River Song

I totally agree on no non-dairy creamers-- they gag me, too. Can't take anything sweet in coffee!

Re: For you coffee nuts, How do you make it?

I'm so leary of the plastics and other components in coffee makers.  We currently have a Cuisinarte coffee maker, but I'm definitely going to try a French Press.

Can anyone give me recs on theirs?

We grind our beans every morning, DH uses a french press; I use the Keurig converter.  Both of us drink our coffee black.

I have a Krups. Put in the coffee, add water, press button. No bells. No whistles. It's just what I wanted. We drink it straight.

@Love4cats @Rockycoast   I also have a Technivorm with the insulated carafe.   It's probably about 24 years old and makes great HOT coffee.  I have never heard of Carrabassett Coffee and will take a look.  I have a burr grinder and always grind my beans.  I'm currently getting Dark Roast Costa Rican coffee and Dark Mexican beans from Fresh Roasted Coffee.  They are dark oily beans,  which I love and very resonably priced (esp if you sign up and get credits,  plus they always have sales).  I've purchased beans from many places around the US.  I drink my coffee strong and black,  nothing added.  ENJOY,  and thank you.

@Love4cats    We like the flavored coffees they offer always whole bean. We grind it ourselves each morning.

The flavors we have on hand right now are-Butter Rum, Coconut creme, Toasted Almond, Blueberry Cobbler, Maple Walnut, English Toffee, Chocolate Almond.

I don't think we will be ordering the Blueberry Cobbler, Chocolate Almond or the Coconut Creme.  They either are too light in flavor or don't taste as the name indicates.  But all the other flavors are great.  We store the beans in stainless steel containers with air tight lids.
