@Andreatoo

I'm not much of a soup person. Broths & simple soups were the only thing I could eat for years due to chronic digestive disease. My system just couldn't handle or tolerate most foods.

(I also ate a lot of jello.)

After life changing surgery in 2001, I can now eat lots of things I could never eat before. I rarely eat soup and jello now because I was so tired of them being my main diet for all those years. I know there are hearty flavorable soups out there that are very different from what I had to eat when I was ill, but soups just don't appeal to me. I truly believe it's an emotional reaction to my past that I don't want to relive. I'm happy eating other foods.

We love soup.  I have found, hands down, Alessi Italian soup mixes are better than most homemade soups. I usually add a bag of frozen vegetables.

Another great brand is Bear Creek

Bear Creek Soup Mix, Minestrone, 9.3 Ounce (Pack of 6)

I've seen them. I'll have to check them out. I really like the Amy's brand

The Alesia soups are excellent. We like the Tuscan White Bean. I add a little less water so it is thicker. You can get it at Publix, usually top shelf.

Love onion soup at The Village Tavern - Pembroke Pines location. NOT Panera version.

Make matzoh ball soup using the box mix. It is easy and good.

But it is a little hot for soup now!

I love Italian Wedding soup which my Sicilian grandma made and I have not tasted anything as excellent since she made it.  She called it meatball soup, delicious.  I also love New England clam chowder and homemade chicken soup which my mom made.

Those are a few favorites but in general I do enjoy soup especially in the cold weather!

French Onion Soup and Potage Saint-Germain. Love the fresh green!

When I see these on the menu I have to try them.

I forego the soup if it's offered at a buffet.  I'll save my appitite for the food instead.

Re: Food talk: What is your favorite........

I grew up in SoCal so the weather was not appealing for soup.  I never ate soup or ordered it in a restaurant (except when my parents would force me to eat Andersen's split pea soup at the restaurant in Buelton).  When i moved to the PNW soup started to hold an appeal in the cooler months.  I save Costco rotisserie chicken carcasses and make my own broth and always have soup in the freezer but I still do not order it in a restaurant.

Homemade cream of mushroom soup, with homemade crusty bread!😋 I can no longer stomach the canned "stuff" unless, I SERIOUSLY perform surgery on it.😊
