Going to a first Holy Communion next weekend.  Any ideas for a gift?  I need a gift for a boy and  girl.  I know them both very well, but am stumped as to a gift.

@tamigirl59  I think a cross necklace would be beautiful for the little girl and for the boy a religious medal necklace (St. Christopher).  Both in sterling silver unless you want to purchase gold.  Otherwise, gift cards (Visa).  Those are my suggestions.    I remember my First Communion and everyone had flowers for me at the church after the ceremony and then I had a party at home.

Even though it's a religious thing, I would just get a gift card or give cash.  What kid would really use a religious item?

I would give them cash or a gift card.

They are going to get the religious items from parents, grandparents and godparents.  I wouldn't do frames either.

Many kids use religious items. They start learning about their faith when they are small, and it is a life long process. 

I would try EWTN also. I just got invited to an infant baptism and used the Catholic  Company to find a unique gift for the baby. I wanted a gift that would speak to her Mexican heritage, and honor it. i found a medal of Our Lady Of Guadalupe that did just that
