I was at Hobby Lobby yesterday and saw all the Fall/Holiday items for the home.  Didn't purchasing anything as I was looking for something other than holiday.  However, I did feel some emotional pangs of heartache.  I will be moving from my home soon and I remember the years of caring for her and putting love into her. I would buy some things from crafters and stores like Hobby Lobby to decorate her and give her charm.  I will dearly miss my home when we leave - grown used to her and attached to her.  May sound silly but I am so close to being emotional about it all.  Too many good memories to just leave off.  We will never walk that way again.

Oh my so sad. It's so hard to think of beautiful memories when life has changed.  In the end change is good it strengthens your soul.

Oh, @Puzzle Piece, it's actually good that you feel so wistful about leaving your home.  It's testament to the wonderful years you spent in that location.  Do you wonder what equally great experiences await in your new place of residence?  Make an effort to look for the good and reach out to those around you to make it so.  All the best to you in your new home!

The she threw me off.  I thought this was a story about a person.  I've missed past homes.  Getting settled in the new home will make it better.

Can't relate. Born in Public Housing Projects, moved right before I was 14. Lived in home with my mother until she died after 16 years. Lived there 4 more very, very long years before I could sell it. Seemed more like centuries to me, Couldn't get outta there fast enough.

Lived in our townhome over 20 years, not a thing I miss about it since we moved into "our heaven". Been here over 16+ years now and have no plans on moving.

I have had more emotional connections to my new cars and Race Cars than to any home. Guess we are different, don't know anyone that would miss living in The Projects.

Cheer up, memories are forever, new housing? Not always.

....why are you divorcing her if you still love her so much?  Was she having an affair with another family?

I understand how you feel about leaving your home as I've been in the same situation.  But before you know it, the personal touches you add and the new memories you create will make the new place "home" again!  Best of luck to you on your journey!

Cute.  I call home a Her as she is a lady to me.  We have to move as we are retired and we can't handle the yardwork and the neighborhood has changed.  Best we move on.
