I live in Maryland and we have beautiful autumns...but I will concede that PA is one of the best places to enjoy the changing seasons.

I live in a Chicago suburb and was raised in the city. I love living in Illinois with our changing seasons and beautiful cities. If you go all the way down state to Southern Illinois, it's another climate entirely. They're even seeing armadillos down there now. ❤Autumn.

@Witchy Woman My daughter lives in the mountains of western Maryland, and her surroundings really rival ours in PA.

This is hysterical! I'm in Yuma, AZ which is almost to Mexico. We really miss fall here. I grew up in Ilinois and only miss it this time of year--otherwise much perfer the warm weather here.

Is it a year round climate? I've been looking at that areas average temps and the elevation and temps seem comparable to Denver?
That region fascinates me and I want to go on a short holiday but not sure which months.

3½ hour drive up I-17, and I can go from the desert to a ski resort.
I'm fascinated with Pine Top AZ it is so beautiful.
Have you been?
Not yet...all my "traveling partners" are no longer around. Gotta find someone who likes road-trips. (I can put in 10 hours a day on the highway!) di
Same love road trips!

@rockygems123 : I moved here 18 yrs ago from California desert and we love it. 4 seasons: winter some to a lot of snow ( with global warming the most was 36"--1 storm) spring: moderate ; Summer: high this year 92° ( I suggest AC, some have it, some dont) Monsoon season (4" so far this year); Fall. This is resort community ( many lakes; ski resort 30 MI away, casino). All services but no Costco or Trader Joes. Mean housing is $450k but goes way up to several million. 50% population is full timers and 50% are weekenders. Nice hospital with 2 helicopters ( once DH needed one to go to Mayo). Pretty conservative community but still OK for my family ( blue).

When I was younger I lived in Tucson, Arizona for about 3 1/2 years. I really liked it. Hot summers, but no humidity and the fall there was nice. We had Mount Lemmon near by where you could take a drive and go thru various stages of elevation, vegetation and temperature.
I'm sure it has grown a lot bigger since I lived there. I'd love to go back someday and check out the apartments I used live at.
I am in the Southeast now. It's hot and humid. But we do have a fall. Not that many trees to change leaves though. Mostly pines and palms. A wee bit of snow in the winters for excitement - maybe a 1/2 inch or so is enough to cause chao on the roads.
