FINALLY---my battle with Soc Sec is over!!!

[ Edited ]

It's like I have been in battle mode since last January with these people!!! I have been paying  hundeds of $$ more a month for my Medicare part B because of a mistake about my  income that SS got from the IRS that said I made $135K in 2021!!! I WISH!!!! I made $110,000 LESS as my taxes proved. Had to fill out a lot of paperwork to send in, then waited all year, until I called last month, only to find out that NO ONE had actually submitted it for processing!!!! I called every couple weeks and waited on hold for at least an hour before anyone picked up and even called my district congressman for them to help----but finally,I talk to someone who took the time and went thru it all while I was on the phone with him and he found all this out and processed it right then----he said to give it a month and .........the angels sangHeart----I got my back pay for this whole year, this morning,  and will start, in January, with what I should have gotten plus the new COLA raise!!!

If nothing else---I am persistent Woman WinkBOOM!!!

Did you ever contact your Congressman's office about that situation? Its amazing how they can expedite A solution involving bureaucratic snafus.

@patbz --yes I did---they told me to wait until the end of Sept--I emailed them in August---and if I hadn't heard anything by then, to email them back. I gave SS another month til the end of October, and then as of  today---I got it all taken care of by someone who knew what they were suppose to do.

So typical and I'm so sorry! But you did what you had to do and preservered.

I'm sure many are not able to do so for one reason or another and you shouldn't have to go through this but it happens so often.

Not just SS but all the things we deal with every day.

It takes a warrior! And you are one!

@on the bay ---very nice of you---but more on the side of stubborness and outrage---have fought some hard battles these last 11 years--breast cancer and divorce ----this battle was tiny compared but annoying no less!! What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right!!!

Congrats @wagirl , I bet you are a very happy lady today!

I had a terrible time with Social Security to get my husband enrolled during a Special Enrollment.  I initially tried to get him enrolled by enrolling on-line.  I won't go into the details but finally after 3 months and after calling about 4 times, and waiting sometimes over 2 hours to speak to someone, I was told it was denied.

I then went in person to our local office and got him approved in about 30 minutes.  We should of listened to everyone that had previously suggested to go in person vs on-line.

@BunSnoop :  I agree wholeheartedly with you about applying in person.  Come to find out they had spelled my maiden name wrong and it would have kicked everything out of their system.  Very helpful customer service at my SS center.
