@Sassy7356 & all:  I have so many Summer memories of playing outside and at the river. There was no air conditioning so it was cooler under the shady Magnolias reading comic books with a Coke and a brownie after a day's swimming. 
    The long screened porch on our duplex had a glider that we sat on and drank lemonade or iced water that was usually there. 
   We took my red wagon across the street to the small grocery store for a cold watermelon . They cut a plug out so we could taste it before purchasing. It was always ripe and good. I'd sit on the front steps eating it and enjoying the breeze. Summer was wonderful in the Village.

Thanks for setting up new thread, I love the title of it! I'm ready to start a new story this year. Summers are the best memories. Today it is a rainy day, a very gentle constant rain with a few thunders that woke me up this morning.

@hullie   & all:  Today is cool 70 with rain also, not like the first day of Summer but we really need the rain.
   I had an inflatable sea horse but never could get it to stand up correctly to ride on it.  My rubber inner tube was better. My son had those also. I don't think they have inner tubes now. 
  Last night my son and granddaughter surprised me with Krispy Kreme donuts after her dance class. I had mine for breakfast this morning and had energy to do the housework. I don't take her to dance if it's stormy, it's too much traffic on the roads in the late afternoons. 
   Tomorrow I have a dental cleaning. It's about 25 miles away so I hope the rain and traffic isn't bad. I've canceled the last two due to sinus infection so I must go rain or shine!
