Had good luck and bad with orders coming from countries other than the US.  1. wrong product sent  2.  long waits   3.  poor quality and or inconsistent sizing  4. having to sign for items that are barely $10.  I am very careful these days and feel Ebay has supported me but I really don't want to have to complain.

I've ordered many small jewelry items like beads, stones and sterling findings.  I've never had a bad experience.  Things generally arrive in about10 days and are well-packed.

I'm not a super shopper but I have purchased things from foreign countries and they are very good about communicating the wait times and shipping process.

I don't think I've ever bought anything more than $25 on eBay and I've had an account since 1999.

Even at the height of my eBay shopping, I've only used it for things I couldn't find anywhere else.  It has never been my go-to shopping site.

I've ordered only one thing from China - a timer that had tons of great reviews - and rightly so.  It took a while to receive it, but I would do it all again. $1.99 free shipping and the best little timer ever.

You don't say what you're interested in, but can't you find something made in America?

I've only ordered from China one time that I can remember and was sent the wrong item.

I've been a seller on eBay since 2003 and started buying around 2001.  I don't buy from China because I prefer to spend my money with US sellers....

Yes, I could buy this in the US but the price is much higher.  It's only about $10. but it's the fact that someone in China would have my address.

I got on an agate bangle kick a few years back and bought maybe 20 from China at amazingly low prices.  I have colors to match everything I own.  Shipment was fast and cheap.  I would not buy cosmetics or anything that could be counterfeited, though.
