EATING CHINESE FOOD

[ Edited ]

When we bring in Chinese food, we each order different dishes and share so we have a variety on our plates. I notice on TV shows especially, people each order their own carton and eat from it w/ their chop sticks.

Last week, we ate out in a our favorite Asian restaurant and the couple next to us each ordered the same dish & had leftovers to go in the take out box. May seem insignificant, but why not order two different dishes? Certainly there is more than one dish on the menu that would please you.

How does your family order Chinese/Asian food?

We order many dishes and have them served one at a time.

We order multiple dishes, our favorites and we share.  You are confusing tv silliness with real life.  I've never in my life seen a group sitting around eating  Chinese food from a box with chop sticks.  As for the couple,  I'm sure they had their reasons for doing that way.  They didn't want two different things, they wanted the same thing.

@chrystaltree   It's not silliness. It's on TV shows more often than not.

DH and I both like the same item (Chinese food) , and we always order the same thing...he likes his HOT, HOT, HOT, lots of red peppers....and we each have our own take out box...I would never eat his because of the hot red peppers.

We each order our own single entree and eat with chopsticks.

LOL    I suppose it depends on how we see life.  In my world, everything on tv shows is fiction and much of it silly, even when it isn't in a comedy.

Our favorite Asian restaurant has a buffet, where we can enjoy lots of favorite Asian dishes!
