Living in the South East enjoy this added bonus. Simply love the freshness of my clothes. Make sure only in the mornings by afternoon heat is hot and don't want my clothes enduring.

Re: Drying Clothes Outside....

My brother and me where just talking about this over the weekend. How we never see clothes lines used anymore. I don't hang my clothes out because of pollen in the air and so many bird droppings everywhere since my neighbor feeds them. But when I was younger I use to love how laundry smelled from drying outside.

Re: Drying Clothes Outside....

When we had our home in northern NJ, I loved hanging my laundry outside.  Even in the winter when there was snow on the ground and a sunny, clear day.  Loved the feel/smell of sheets, towels.  Truly miss it now that we live in an apartment.

Re: Drying Clothes Outside....

My Mom and Aunt used to hang clothes out to dry.  With allergies and asthma and pollen in the air there is no way I could do this now. Not that I have anywhere I could hang clothes out.  I miss that time though.

Re: Drying Clothes Outside....

I hang out all my laundry, but oh those sheets!

It would have to be a real emergency for me to dry my sheets in a clothes dryer.

Even in winter I can find a window of opportunity to dry outside.

If it's sunny & there's a bit of a breeze, my laundry will dry in 1 hour.

My  laundry room is just a few feet from my back door, making it very convenient.

That's why I love Philosophy's Pure Grace. Mmmm it smells just like fresh laundry that was hanging outside on the clothesline.

Re: Drying Clothes Outside....

My Mom used to hang clothes outside to dry back in the 1950's & 60's. All of the neighbors did that , too, when clothes dryers were not commonplace.  Thank you for the nice memory.  Those were the days, my friend. I can still see my Mom doing this in my mind's eye.  However, now, there is no way I would hang my clothes out to dry for thousands of people to see.  I guess it depends on where you live.

There is no detergent, softener ,or anything that makes your clothes as fresh smelling as hanging out to dry, i want a old fashion clothes line so bad, so my front porch has railing ,i hang my clothes on it, it looks like i am a  hillbilly, love the fresh smell.

Re: Drying Clothes Outside....

When I was a kid my mom hung out the clothes on a clothesline all the time. I remember it like it was yesterday.

Today I have no desire to.It’s more convenient to just pop it all in the dryer.
