Re: Do you remember paper dolls?

I sure do remember paper dolls. That was my entertainment for years while I was growing up. My parents would purchase the book for about 35cents and it would be really wonderful playing outside during the summer with friends with the paper dolls

Re: Do you remember paper dolls?

Oh how my sister and I loved our paper dolls.  Our father used to cut them out for us because the two of us had difficulty manipulating the large household scissors. When we tried we'd cut off the little fold over tabs used to secure the clothes on the dolls.  Also, when it came to hats, there was usually a little slit, we'd cut right through.

I loved "bride" paper dolls the best.

Back in the 1980s, a dear friend gave me Nancy Reagan paper dolls for Christmas.

I loved my paper dolls too.  I made my own, made families, and love designing their clothes.  And remember those old little boxes where nylons came in, that cardboard I made the people.  And I used stationery boxes for putting the families in, I had several.  I came 12 years behind, so I was really into these!  And when I was 12, I thought I was too old for them, so got rid of them all.  My younger cousin would come over and we'd play with them for hours.  I remember one time I created a Our Miss Brooks and my cousin and I would make shows with them.  What fun we had!!

Hello @gloriajean ... I remember my Mom having the stocking boxes you mentioned! I used to think stockings were really something to come in a box like that! So you made people out of those? That was a good idea!

So many fun memories playing with my paper dolls. Smiley Happy If I remember correctly, my favorites were little girls and their mommies! I took them to friends' houses to play with them. I couldn't wait to see what new paper dolls they had, too!!

Edited to say ... I used to love watching "Our Miss Brooks"!!
