Yeah, you a fan of mine. I often say if something is a miss, that this must have been written by someone who will never use this. That way I cover alot of who did it.

I really agree. And I do not think they all had formal education to do so.

Re: Do you learn better from written instructions,

@qualitygal

When I became a teacher for SPED students, I had to observe carefully which instructions certain students understood and carried out and which ones didn’t work.

Like my DGCs, just speaking instructions to them doesn’t work.

My disability (if I were to be tested) would be auditory, I think.

I need to write as I hear.

My students were exceptionally more auditorily capable, and they were also way more adept at reading body language.

Re: Do you learn better from written instructions,

I prefer to have written instructions, and then I read them out loud to myself.

Re: Do you learn better from written instructions,

I do much better to be shown what to do, and pictures. Many times i either misread or don’t understand what i am reading. That is why I like to be shown physically how to do what ever

Re: Do you learn better from written instructions,

Instruction, regardless of how it is imparted, has to be done well and thoroughly, and I find most often it is simply not.

Especially instructions that come with things you buy and have to build, often leave much to be desired.

Detail is important in both graphics and language for instructions to be well done.
