I fight sleep, I guess I want to get as much done or as much out of the day as I can, anyone else do this?

No I feel so much better after a good night's sleep, that I think I accomplish more the next day. I think that everyone is different when it comes to how much sleep is needed.😴😴😴

I guess I would say I do.  I never thought about it that way, but I almost have to be exhausted before i finally give in and go to bed.  I like to fall asleep fast so I don't do any thinking.  I tend to think and worry too much.

I'm the same way...I have many medical problems that include a sleep disorder, and I sleep very little.  I also struggle with "racing thoughts, worries, etc." so i procrastinate going to bed until I am ready to colllapse.  Howerver, this "habit" is something I've been struggling to break for the past several months (no success) as it is cauisng my medical conditon to worsen.

I need a good night's sleep also, I usually get about 8 hours. That isn't what I'm talking about.

I dont think it would be good for you to fight sleep on an regular basis, but once in a while would not hurt. Anyone having problems going to sleep because of worry or stress, I have an good idea for that, I like to listen to relaxation cds or meditation cds with headphones and that does the trick for me

I don't think I fight sleep, but I am a night owl.  My youngest son is one as well.   I am not sleepy at night so I don't want to go to bed.

If I do go to bed early., I just lay there awake for hours.  I don't take naps either.

No.  I believe that a good night's sleep, 7-8 hours of quality sleep, is as important for a healthy mind and a healthy body as eating right and exersizing.  I don't "fight" sleep, I look forward to it.   Sleep is what charges me so that I can do everything I want and need to do during the day.

You probably need to see a sleep specialist.  Most major hospitals have Sleep Clinics.  Sleep disorders are major problem today.  I know about the pain, I suffer with chronic pain myself and have for years.  I never liked the idea of sleep meds so I existed on 5 or 6 hours of bad sleep.  It was a slippery slope for me, poor sleep exacerbated my pain and the pain kept me from sleeping well.  I saw a sleep specialist and pain specialist and the "fix" was easy.  They pain specialist prescribed Neurontin, 300mg an hour before bedtime.... it takes care of the nerve pain and makes me drowsy so that I can easily fall asleep and stay asleep for 7 hours.  The sleep specialist gave me some tips that helped a lot.  No tv in my bedroom,  I should treat my bedroom as a place to sleep not to entertain myself.  I don't read or watch anything over stimulating or violent an hour before bedtime because reviewing it in my head, keeps me awake and keyed up.

My parents couldn't keep me in bed as a baby!  Most kids learn to walk--I was working on climbing out of my crib.  I don't fight sleep; it fights me.  I just now got up and came in the den and turned this computer on--so here I am!!!    It's after 1:30 I think.
