Do you ever look to QVC for solace?

I'm basically good right now, I'm healthy, I have a loving family and enough money to live comfortably.  Even so, there are some very upsetting circumstances going on in my life that leave me feeling overwhelmed at times.

This morning I turned on QVC to find Rick and Valerie doing the autumn show.  I watched the whole show, purchased nothing, but felt comforted by the familiarity of the hosts and the show.

I expect I'll be bombarded by posters who remind me that the hosts are not my friends and QVC is a retail establishment.  I assure you, I know that.   However, I'm wondering if anyone else here watches sometimes just to escape the realities of everyday life and find some solace in the familiar.

Yes @house_cat.  I understand.  But unfortunately things are changing so much here that I have to cherry pick to find that "comfort zone."  I don't see it any differently than someone enjoying their favorite sports channel.  To each their own.  Have a nice day.

Whatever brings peace to the storms in your personal life has value and should be respected.

We all have some type of distraction aka hobby or other escape to help us. The kindness of strangers, especially familiar ones, works in all kinds of mediums for all types of situations.

I'm glad you got an hour to yourself. ❤️

@Coastalcarolina

Agreed. I don't know any of the newer hosts. I only watch when I see one of the old-timers and they are disappearing quickly.

I'm also healthy, have a loving family and enough to be comfortable.

However life isn't perfect and I have to remind myself that many have it really bad so I am lucky!  I have to tell myself this when I feel depression coming on and yes there are times when I put on QVC to drown out negative thoughts.

I have always said I find solace in a good cup of hot tea.

Whatever works for you, why not @house_cat ? I understand what you mean about things from the past bringing solace. Been watching more television lately and find myself watching more old movies on TCM . The newer films rarely interest me, so I revert back to films I enjoyed in the past....
