My ancient car has a key pad to unlock it.  So I keep my spare key in my car. Works for me, as long as I don't ever forget the key pad combination!!!

We have an electronic keypad to get into the attached garage. If the power is out we're just screwed! LOL!

We use a key pad to enter through our front door.
However, our door from the garage to the house requires a key, and we hide a key in the garage for this door.

Twice I have been in my back yard, and one of my dogs jumped on the screen door and hit the lock and locked me out!

I had to sit outside (once in my bathrobe) for hours until my husband returned (I had no phone, and neighbors were at work). Quite unpleasant!

I learned my lesson, and now I have a front door key hidden on my property which can never be found by anyone but me.  The front door also has a locking screen door, but usually it is open during the day for the mail, and other deliveries.

We have an old home, so everything is done with keys.

Of course, if we are not home, we have an alarm system as well that will connect to the police.  If we are home, we have two crazy barking dogs to deter any trespassers.

Our townhouse has a key entry so we do have a key hidden in the attached garage in case we need it.  Have never had to use it.  We also have an alarm system as we travel often.  My adult kids have their own keys and are notified by the alarm company if it happens to go off.

Yes we keep keys hidden, I have mostly done that all my life.

Of course we have more sense that the hide it under the potted plant on the porch, or a fake rock, etc.

Never. My MIL lives about 5 mins away. She has a key. We have her key.

I used to lock myself out when I went out our back door to the patio. The door opens when it's locked? I kept locking myself out?

We don't lock our door unless we're going away for the weekend or longer. When we return, we go in through the garage.  The neighbors know how to get into our house through the garage as well. We live in a cul-de-sac. Nuff said. Smiley Wink
