No.

1 takes jobs away from others

2. easy to make mistakes

3. seems there should be a store discount for checking yourself out

No. Only 2 stores I’m aware of the have self checkout and I don’t shop at them

Re: Do You Use Self Checkout At Stores?

Tickles me....

What would this “Store Discount” look like?

And from reading some of these replies,

I have this image they think they’re Grocery Store Royalty

with the lowly peasants bagging their food &

carrying the customer out on their shoulders to their car.

”Yes, you may kiss my ring....”

😆😆😆😆😆

And only if it’s a buck/2 discount THEN we would re-consider.

@sidsmom  Exactly. I never understood why people don’t know that. That is what a business does....makes money. Especially people that have their own business.

Re: Do You Use Self Checkout At Stores?

Yes most our stores have changed over but there is always a cashier or 2 in the area to help you, if necessary!

At first, I was intimidated with weighing/coding produce or single price items & scanning coupons ..now I'm a champ🙂

My biggest obstacle is "how or where" to put the bagged groceries in the very small area they have & I still have things in cart!🤷‍♀️

It depends. If I have few items and am in a hurry, yes.

The Home Depot stores near me only have one register open at any given moment and 4 self-checkout registers, so I tend to do it there more often than at the grocery store, but it also makes me dread going to Home Depot. Now that I live closer to a Lowe's, I go there unless only Home Depot carries what I need.

This is why I only go to Lowe’s vs Home Depot.

Home Depot at most times does not offer an option other than self check out.  I have left items and not purchased them due to not having the option of a cashier and forcing me to use self checkout.

Re: Do You Use Self Checkout At Stores?

I hate to wait in line, so I prefer self checkout.  I do almost all my grocery and miscellaneous shopping at Walmart and their self checkout is very easy to use.  I do think they should give a discount for doing their job.

I don't think I am taking jobs away from anyone.  Stores would simply have longer lines and make people wait.
