@Jo1313

corn cakes, biscuits, muffins or anything like that.  You could actually poach eggs in it if you put a little water in each and heated it and then removed the eggs once they were "done enough."  It's a lovely piece of yesteryear.

Ladies, my very brief research said it was for "pancakes or corn bread".

Many thanks for the extra information!  They look delicious!

@ECBG

It can be for either and you can make biscuits in it.  My grandmother would do that when she had her oven bakers in full use but normally she used it for cornbread and occasionally for donuts (not real donuts but used the recipe and make round things) and then she also used it for pancakes.  It is multifunctional

@MorningLover Yep! That is exactly what they look like! We have a pan and have made them many times.

It is an ebilskiver pan. It is stuffed rounded pancakes. I have one. There are recipes online if you put it into a search engine that you can find. They are also good for a sweet treat after dinner.

I agree with cornbread, maybe yorkshire pudding since the cast iron would get screaming hot first, as needed. Maybe muffins would cook in there, too.

I make little breakfast quiches and freese them to put in microwave when needed. I could bake them in there, too.

If all else fails, it'd make a wonderful acrylic paint palette. Lol

Yes, it is an ebelskiver. I have one. We make Danish pancakes, cornbread and a few other things in it. Fun and different way to cook.
