yes i do enjoy and look forward each day to my exercises

There's nothing I enjoy about it whatsoever but I do take a couple of walks a day and ride my exercise bike at night. I don't think I make the endorphins either but then these are extremely mild exercises. I do it to help keep my diabetes in line and know that it's good for me in several other ways as well.
I did yoga several years ago until my yoga instructor moved out of town. Now that I loved and it was a very strenuous workout (surprisingly).

Sometimes, right at that moment, I might not be having fun. But the long term benefits are the payoff.
I swore years ago not be that plump, potbellied, old lady who can't get to the back of her cabinets.
Find what you like and keep at it.

@hckynut Thanks John. I know what you're saying. I've done many things and just didn't enjoy them. "No joy" isn't something we hurry to repeat.
It's not an attitude, I've been there many times. I've never enjoyed sports either. It just never appealed.

I don't do anything I don't enjoy...lol.
And I have to admit, I'm holding on to almost 20 extra pounds more than I should be. I have lost a little of it and am working on it now.
I didn't really have to go up a size for some reason, but things are tight that are more structured. When I tell people how much I weigh--they don't believe me.
I ride my beach bike practically every morning for 8 miles. I try to reach the boardwalk before the sun comes up and ride the length of it back and forth. Fighting the wind is a good workout. The day is still young when I'm done and it's a good feeling that I've accomplished something beneficial.
We take a couple of rides during the day/night, we rarely drive anywhere, including getting groceries.
We swim almost every day. We were in the water for about an hour yesterday. I literally do squats to jump every wave I can. I tread water constantly and swim back and forth between the life guard flags a couple of times. I am usually beat by the time we get out.
Sometimes at night, I'll run up and down the steps to our back deck a couple of times. 10 or twelve steps---it's quite a workout.
I lift weights every couple of days.
Anything that makes me sweat is good, even cutting the grass. We have an outside shower and sometimes I take 3 showers a day.

No, I do not enjoy exercising, but I do it 5 days a week to stay strong. I listen to music while working out which helps me get through it. I take off Saturday & Sunday. I clean house which includes vacuuming & mopping on Saturday so that is a good amount of exercise already for that day. I also walk with DH & the dog each day unless the weather is bad.

In my younger years I walked 4 miles a day. I then joined a gym a various times and I didn't mind it but had to travel 20 miles round trip to go.
I had a recumbant bike and I have a Pilates machine for days I didn't go to gym.
All that was before I creaked like a rusty gate and didn't hurt everywhere.
Too old to restart it now. And yes, sometimes it's too late.

@jeanlake Probably endorphins, the feel good" chemical kicking in. I belong to a ladie's work out club for quite a while. Never happened.

I started a regular fitness regimen 28 years ago. I joined a gym (had to pay one year membership upfront) and hired a
personal trainer to work with me three times/week. I was then able to learn all of the machines, proper form, and all of the gym basics. It was a very expensive expenditure, so I wasn't about to quit. After I reached my one year anniversary, I finally started enjoying working out. This will always be one of the most important milestones that now defines who I am.
During that first year, I had many training sessions that I did not look forward to. Most of it was based on my insecurities of being at the gym and body image problems.
Going to the gym several times a week has been important to me for almost three decades. I sincerely miss going to the gym during this pandemic. I am doing resistance bands, free weights, core work, and walking, but I sure do miss the weight machines and the gym atmosphere.
When I was a speed walker/jogger, (two marathons), I was able to feel endorphins kicking in, but I don't get the runner's "high" by doing weight training and basic cardio. I do enjoy that my blood work is excellent and I have no health risks.......this is what keeps me going.

@jpie Thank you for the kind post. I have used machines, bought machines, paid for memberships, and speed walked with a friend I didn't even get to see (because I taught, then came home to cook and help rear two boys),
detested it all.
I get my workouts running back and forth in the store where I am the (head) stylist.
