I don't "swoon", but I love ice skating, with the beat, of that song. Also when some of the other music from that good movie. I gotta have music(older type preferably) when I skate.

Slower songs for "cruisin" on skates, and upbeat songs for really "pickin 'em up and puttin 'em down". What a treat for this old man.

Hey, @ECBG, thanks for posting this. Gonna be heading out to skating in about an hour, love every minute of it, even the painful parts.

I think I was around 15 when it came out. I remember my sister and our friends would try and recreate the dance at the end. We would take our youngest sister who was 6 or 7 and try and make her do a lift. Fun times.

Even though not obsessed with the movie, if I'm flipping channels and it's near the end I HAVE to see the final dance!  Yes, I'm crazy...

@Imaoldhippie  I would not say Dirty Dancing is a musical. It was a movie with an impressive soundtrack. But as noted, its not  in everyones will house. I thought Patrick Swayze was great in " Ghost".

I’m very familiar with the Catskills in the 60’s. I lived and worked there. Yes, there was fooling around but that dancing style...no way. The writers definitely knew about the era and the locale but they took a bit of artistic license with those dances.

I LOVE and Swoon over the movie in general but, I was never crazy about the music.

I loved this movie!!!!!! The actors all did a superb job and the dancing was wonderful.....I have probably seen this movie too many times to count.......The young Jennifer Grey reminds me so much of one of my cousins, not so much looks, but mannerisms.......
