@Luvsmyfam I was about to ask you about that. I remember you mentioned your oldest grandson in Chicago. Did you make it there on your vacation?

Hi @sherrikay. Lucky you to be able to make special memories with your grandson. & I loved that you said "this granny".
Cute story:
When my youngest son was about 4, he was sitting on the couch looking pensive, so I asked "Penny for your thoughts?"
He replied "There's a big difference between grannies and grandmas, isn't there."
My mom was Granny, and my husband's mom was Grandma, who'd sadly never cared that much for any of our kids, or even for her son.
She was, however, close to her daughters children, as sometimes happens.
Anyway, I decided that when my time came, I'd definitely want to be a Granny, so hopefully that's what I am.
NO offense to all the good grandmas out there. ![]()

Both entrees sound delicious. It's nice you could treat your GS.

Any time spent with loved ones is precious, but one-on-one times are the best. I bet you both made a nice memory today.

@Luvsmyfam What a great memory. My husband and I were later in life having children but god blessed us with a son and later with a daughter-in-law that we love. Also in April our first grandson was born and I am looking so forward to the day I can take him to lunch or dinner or just shopping. I am loving every minute I spend with him now. I am going to be the best Memaw I can be...

To all you Grannies, Grandmas, Nanas etc....
If you think that YOU are deriving love, comfort and pleasure from your special moments with your grandchildren, they are living in moments that become treasured memories as well.
I will be 70 next year and my Nana and Papa are as fresh in my mind and as alive in my heart as they were when I was riding in the big back seat of their '56 Oldsmobile The rides, the treats, the Holidays and especially the times curled up between them on the sofa watching TV still bring joy to this old heart.
I read somewhere once that nobody is ever completely dead and gone as long as people remember them and still speak their name. Grandparents are eternal.

The boys are 5 years apart and when the younger one gets to the age I started, it will be his turn.
They both will have their own day and own dinner.
@ECBG doesn't the younger one feel left out? sad if he has to wait!
