I am Irish and my mother was afraid I would be born with red hair (meaning carrot top)  I was born blonde but love red hair and would love to have it.

I thought red hair was a recessive gene.  I've only had one friend with natural red hair in my entire life.  No boyfriends either.

In the past, red hair was seen as an oman of bad luck. Harry hasn't been good luck for the Monarchy so they may not have been entirely wrong.

I' m surprised there aren't more shades of red, they're mostly that orange red.  I'm half Irish and have relatives with deep shades of red hair, beautiful.

I'm half Scots/Irish, the other half English and I have blonde hair but my Dad's brother had red hair so did DH's Grandfather and an Uncle.  I love it and hoped my kids would inherit it but with their other DNA being Swedish and Norwegian they got the lighter family hair.  Great picture btw.....
