So, I had big plans for today to go shopping, etc. Did my hair, makeup, all that stuff. Get in the car and the battery is dead. Wahhhhhhh
So I called for a jump and my afternoon will be at the dealership spending money on a battery.
I hate it when that happens. I got only 3 years out of this battery so there better be some negotiating happening.

Batteries, can't live with them, can't live without them.
Sorry this happened right here at the Holidays, hope it is a one and only, not the series of things breaking that I usually get at the Holidays.
Knock on Wood - So far, nothing has broken here this year.

You may only need the battery charged and not a whole new one. You should search and make certain there isn't something staying on when the car is off. Like a light under the dash or in the glove compartment.A 3 year old battery shouldn't die , and if it does you need to figure out why.

Depends on where you live. Here in the desert, batteries don't last long because of the heat.

My battery died last January...couldn't afford a new battery or the many other things that were wrong!..so, I've been w/o a car since then. My son let me use his truck...the battery died in his truck as well. He's overseas...so I'm back where I started..lol! I don't think batteries or anything else they put in cars is good anymore...! ![]()

I never keep a battery more than 3 years, no matter what it says.
I buy the cheapest replacement possible and I always get 3 years out of it.
I never want to be stranded, even at home.

3 yrs is about the life of any battery. I buy a 60 mo. and hope I get 4 yrs out of it.
My oil change place tests for free so I ask them to check it at every change. I have a long commute and getting stranded in 0 temps isnt fun.

I keep a trickle charge on my battery while in the garage.
Love my car, but drive time is erratic, home driving, or away for 3 or 4 weeks in a row. So, use the charge to keep it alive while away.
Crazy, I know.

Always good to have a Halo Bolt handy! I'm another who replaces a battery every 3 years or so. But I've helped out a couple of neighbors with my Halo when they had issues. But even having my Halo handy, I wouldn't go much past 3 years or so to replace a battery. Comfort level for me.

After a long process (two hours) I have a new battery. Under the warranty, the battery has to be tested to verify a "fail". That took over an hour. Then the installation, and a free car wash. The tech said that because I don't drive often (since I retired) and only for short distances, the battery doesn't charged fully. So it doesn't last as long. If they could do a "deep charge" I would get more life out of it, but that takes 6 hours. I was there too long as it was. On the plus side, they furnish gourmet coffees and donuts, and cable TV.
I need to look into that trickle charge.
