Re: December 2021 Holiday Season at the Back Fence

It was so cold the other day that I wore a parka and winter hat.  Today it was 59 degrees, gusty wind and I wore a spring coat and baseball cap to the grocery store.  This is crazy.

Re: December 2021 Holiday Season at the Back Fence

Hello Everyone.

Another day of cold weather, but not much wind thank goodness. I think we hit a high of 28. I made my date filled cookies this morning and mixed up the dough for cut out cookies which I will make tomorrow morning. I will make my Peanut Blossoms tomorrow too.

After the cookies were baked I had to run out to Penney's quick to take some pants back. I tried to do that errand yesterday, but they were closed due to a power outage. I also made a quick stop at the post office, that was nuts there. Lastly I had to stop at the grocery store for just a few things. After getting home I was ready to pass out.

Hope all is well with each of you.

@Leeny   I think my sister is going to start baking cookies today.  She's the baker in the family and actually enjoys it, lol.  I'm watching snow fall outside of my window.  I like to see snow around Christmas, it adds to the jolly feeling.

@Bird mama   I have snow in my kitchen, lol, it is totally a snowy scene, kids building snowmen, etc., white flocked tree with all white and clear ornaments, all branches in floral arrangements are snow flocked, the only way I can have snow here.  The living rooim and elsewhere is red and green, basically, holly, this year glass vintage ball ornaments.

@Bird mama

Yeah!!! I got my baking done today. I feel so good that I finished it up with the help of our youngest son. Tomorrow is GS's Christmas program at 9AM .. I'll have to go to bed with the chickens to get up and be over there to get my back row seat by 8:30AM. Mr.L is going too along with our son. I am so beat I took my son out to lunch to a very quiet Chinese restaurant. Mr.L wanted to stay home and eat some soup and watch football.

No snow here, but Christmas Eve they are predicting flurries??? DD wants us all to sleep over at her house. It would make it easier, but Mr.L and son are kind of iffy on it.

I need a vacay to a nice quiet place, but traveling is out of the question right now.

@Bird mama

I'll let you know how the Christmas program goes tomorrow. It will be a long service with all the choirs singing and playing plus communion Sunday it will be a good hour and a half or more. I need to get ready for bed soon so I can get up all perky and bushy tailed. (That will be the day.)

Did you read about the distribution center of QVC's in Rocky Mount burning 3/4 of the warehouse down? That is like 30 football fields? I tell you it's something all the time to keep us on our toes. My hearts go out to the employees, Thank God they all got out, although it sounds like one is un accounted for. I can't imagine what all these people are going through. Betwwen things like this and the weather and covid, it makes you wonder how we are all keeping our heads above water.
