Re: December 2020 Bird's Nest - Happy Holidays

I am so sorry that you are getting worse @luvsbulldogs I smiled to myself when I read your 'blue bird' story.  I have two recent 'bird's stories.  One was that I saw something white on the other side of my back gate that opens to the berm that separates my property and the school property.  I have two pair of binoculars at my disposal and common sense should dictate that I use one of them to check out what I can't make out with regular corrective lenses.

That would be too much like right so I thought a hawk got the white pigeon (totally white - no markings) that comes to eat with the regular flock.  The rule of engagement between me and the hawk is carryout only - kill a bird and try to eat it in the yard and I'll take it from ya.

So, it was on the other side of the fence.  I just needed to know one way or the other - it was a piece of white paper garbage that blew against my gate.

Then I look out the kitchen window and swear that I see a mourning dove down in the middle of the yard.  Well, somebody in the neighborhood has a tree that has bigger leaves than what grows on my trees and one of the leaves landed in my yard after a windy day.

Sigh, lol.

There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.

@luvsbulldogs

Luvs,  I am so sorry to read that you are having such an ongoing flareup with Crohn's.   It's such an insidious or cruel disease.   I watch what my daughter has to deal with so I know what you are having to deal with and sure pray and hope that the infusion will help  you get some relief and improvement asap..

I wish also that you could go to a safe lab place.   I know you take really good precautions, but it's still a bit scary.   Fingers crossed that the Stelara is working.   My daughter has to give herself B1? injections or iron, not sure as she has so many meds to deal with.

Just know you are in my prayers and I know prayers are answered,  Hoping you will soon be doing much better.   Stay safe and warm.

PS  I'm glad it wasn't a blue bird.   So many times birds get startled and fly right into the windows here.   I try to find them and keep them till they recover, which most of the time they do and they I release them.  I also have to rescue one every now and then due to getting a toe caught in a slot in one of the feeders.  I've tried to fix the slots but they are for rain drainage and I don't know how to do anything about them.

I had about 35 to 40 Cardinals over the past few cold days.  They plus the other's are eating up a storm.   Wish I could keep the doggone squirrels out of my feeders without resorting to drastic measure for them.  Last night a raccoon managed to open the recycle bin and make a mess for me to clean up this morning.  I may have to resort to putting a concrete block on that container lid.
