My sister called me at work later this afternoon.  My mother's last cat, Misty passed away this morning.  Today is the 5th anniversary of my Ma's death.  I was filling out Christmas Cards last night and I always send my sister one from her cats.  When I wrote my sister's cat's name, I hesitated and was overcome with melancholy when I wrote my Ma's cat's name.  It was like I felt something.

Misty turned 20 on Monday - sudden onset of kidney failure.  It was caught early enough to spare suffering but not reversible.

I warned my sister that there was a card coming with both of their names (I mailed them all this morning).

I had just received a card from both cats earlier in the week.  I also send her cards from me and my birds - kooky I know but I like sending cards.

Safe and Loved

Bernie,  I am sorry to read about your Mom's kitty,  Misty,  crossing the Rainbow Bridge today.   What a reunion that must have been for her and your Mom, when she made it safely to her Heavenly home, across that beautiful bridge.   She will always be close to you and your sister though, as cats and all furry and feathery kids, make a place for themselves in our hearts, and they remain there always.  Misty had a nice long life and I know you all will miss her, but you have happy memories of her and that helps with the sadness.

I don't think it's kooky   to  send cards to those you love, from those you love.  I used to do it, but don't send many cards at all anymore.  The postal service saw to that with the outrageous price of stamps.  None of my siblings send cards for birthdays etc. but a few Christmas cards.

Cool chickens too,  My cousin in OK raises different chickens and some lay colored eggs, like blue, green, etc.  She has a cool place, kind of like I wish I had, only I'd rather be further out in the country and in Missouri.

Have a great and relaxing weekend.  Might get some rain here.

Waving to all my Birding Friends.

Re: December 2015 Bird's Nest - Where Bells are Ringing

Hello all - I got my rear in gear after AM Style this morning and went shopping.  I found new style of wallet on sales at Sears so I have a nice spare leather wallet that cost me roughly $16.  I also picked up my 2016 Audubon bird of the day desk calendar.  The mall I went to has two levels and I don't shop there enough to know where anything is so I was ready ot get in and get out.  What ever happened to mall directories?  I picked up a gift card for my sister from Tim Hortons (coffee place) on the way home.

The temps are mild but I still feel cold - maybe there is a dampness in the air, I don't know.

I'm pretty much on the Christmas shopping front.  I give money to the great nieces since others buy them toys.

The bird for the weekend is the Forest Canary
