I have suffered from anxiety all my life. It's worse now then ever. I can barely function to do anything at all, and I always feel like I'm going to pass out all the time so I sit all day. I do shower everyday though, but I have to go through a routine to get there. it's miserable, and I wish there was a cure for It. I feel for you and anyone who suffers from this. take careHeart xoxo

Me too..... I had decided it was time to make a phone call.   That was the hardest part.  Believe me when I say you /we are not the only ones that suffer from this.   I hope you will find the strength to make an appointment.   I was prescribed a generic zoloft and though I am not 100 percent , I can honestly say I am better.   I still in some situations have a hard time in public settings and have to force and talk myself through.   It is my hopes that as time goes on all of this will get better as well.    Please don't hold yourself hostage to anxiety..... take and make the first step and see about making an appointment.  It can make a difference.   Many people suffer from this....... I hope you will find the strength to make the call.   Keep in touch, okay?

Wonderful post, @stargazergal@Retiredonthebeach, and everyone, please remember we're not alone and the situation isn't hopeless... there is help out there.❤️

I'm a walking anxiety ridden gal.   I worry all the time.  I have had some issues in life and I seem to look for the bad in things.  I have fears I never had before.

I've tried the deep breathing, but it doesn't remove the anxiety for me, just calms me at the moment.

Sometimes my fears keep me in my house.   I go out, but not at night anymore.  I'm afraid to drive at night.   I am suddenly alone after many years, and it's been hard.

I read a lot of books on anxiety that help, I watch programs where they offer advice.   I try to watch funny shows or movies to help me laugh and relax a bit.

I know what you mean about anxiety.  I think I'm wired to be worried.  I wish I could find peace and harmony again.

@FrostedCake ... Actually, you are wired to be a worrier...or not. I recently had my DNA analyzed and submitted it to a site that gives you a lot of medical information. Must of it was spot on as it relates to our family history. The information was fascinating! One of the things it told me was that there is a/several genes that determine whether or not you are a worrier. It told me that I most likely am not a worrier...and I am not. It kind of classified you either as a worrier or a warrior. A warrior would tackle the problem head on rather than worry about it. That's me!

Have you tried reading as a method of relaxation? Reading just takes me away into another world! Nothing like a great mystery book.

I just wanted to say I was sorry to hear that you have been dealing with anxiety

for such a long time..... please consider talking to your doctor about it.  It is

no way to go through life on a daily basis.   I have been prescibed antidepressant

for anxiety at one time or another when I felt it not going away.  It was

so helpful.   Please find the courage to make a phone call.  Anxiety is real,

and it can be debilitating.   Wishing you the very best and I so hope you

know that you do not have to live like this every day.

Take good care and sending you a Hug !

I couldn't agree more.  I had a severe anxiety disorder that ruined any quality of life I had for years.  I used Xanax, but it only helped a very short time.  Maybe I didn't have a high enough dose, but didn't want to go down that road too far.  I'm sure it hurt my husband too.
It hit critical mass when I developed heart irregularities. My being an RN probably exacerbated all my fears.  I had all kinds of tests which turned out fine.  My doctor then suggested trying Paxil.  Within one week, I felt better.  Within 2 weeks, my life was NORMAL again.  My hypochondria didn't let me try a medication like this before.  I wasted so much time in the hell of anxiety.  I had panic attacks and left places at random.  I was a huge mess.
This gave me back my life, and I am forever grateful.  Please talk to your doctor. There are ways to help you.  WIshing you the best.

Such thoughtful, insightful posts.   That's probably the single most important reason to keep returning to these forums....   the good people who make up the majority here, and who are always here to be supportive.   Times like these, we truly are a community.

Have I hever been in your shoes and not so long ago either. I drink smoothing teas. They do help. I pray and I have talked to a close friend. You have to have faith and hope that no matter what comes down the pike that you have the strength and courage to face it and know that This To Will Pass.

There are many anti-anxiety meds that can be used that are so effective they can really help your quality of life. If your anxiety isn't short term, see your dr about it and he may be able to offer some options. I find that prayer is my best way to help alleviate anxiety. When I am feeling anxious, I pray and ask the Lord to calm my heart, my mind, and my thoughts....and He does!

I use to worry alot too. I am alone more than I should be and am married. So listen up young women that think you will marry and have a side by side partner. I have learned that fear is something that should be only present when needed. I too now look for the bright side of life and stay as clear about the darker side as I can.

There has to be and should be a balance within us all and when the outside world looks so daunting like it has been lately than you can rely on your guardian angels and faith to help you , good no matter how things look always overcomes the darkness.

My advice to you is find someone in some capibility that you can help. Do something good for someone else. Go to the senior center and do yoga it is really helpful, find a church to attend and strengthen your faith and find friendships there. Just remember this : A church is where sick or ill people can go and find healing, just like going to a hospital. A minister I worked with told me this when I told him I thought people who attended church on a regular basic were perfect. i have grown and matured enough to know that he gave me good advice.
