Good morning!

I hope that your Sunday is a good one. Time to relax and enjoy all of the blessings we are given.

Life is difficult. Life is tough for many. It is hard to wrap our heads around the struggles and hardships that so many people endure. Sometimes, all we can do is pray. All I know is that God loves and cares. Faith is tested, some turn away. God still loves and cares. His answer, his time. Pray for one another. Often, that's all a person has.

Thank you, HeresLucy for keeping this going.  I always like starting the day out with something inspirational.

Am praying for Darla this morning.  So glad the surgery went well.  Sometimes the waiting is difficult but it is comforting to know that God loves her so very very much.

Today is Darla's doctor appointment for follow up on her surgery.  Then she leaves Texas to come home.

Here is Patrick Carnevale's reflection on today's readings - he's always so inspirational to read.

Today's readings 8/17/15
Jgs.2:11-19;  Ps.106:34-37, 39-40, 43-44;  Mt.19:16-22

Today's readings don't reveal anything new about human behavior, what we read about is a lot of the same old things that we see going on in the "rebellious and disobedient" society we live in, and so it should come as no surprise to any of us that there's so much "plundering and despoiling" taking place these days. God clearly warned us that these kinds of things would take place if we rejected His Ways in favor of the many "idols" we've created and serve, and I use the word "idols" because that's exactly what many people bow down to without even knowing it. That's because idols are very good at disguising themselves and making themselves appear harmless, they come in many different forms and are very difficult to let go of, and I believe that's the main reason why there are so many "sad" people in our world today. Jesus makes it clear that nothing can come between us and our response to His Call to "follow Me", everything we possess should help us serve that higher calling, and if we find anything that hinders that calling we need to let it go right away before it becomes an idol. That can be a real challenge because so many of us have a lot of possessions, not all of which are a hindrance or an idol either. If we really want to follow Jesus we, like the rich young man in today's Gospel, are going to need His help in discerning what to hold on to and what to "go and sell", and then we're going to need His grace to apply what He reveals to us to the way we live. I can assure you those who make that choice and seek His help won't "go away sad" ever again!

God bless you,
In Jesus - Pat

I hope that everyone is having a good day. I've been MIA for several days so since I have a few minutes, I thought I'd drop by and say hello. Hello!  lol

I also hope you are doing well and all is right in your world.

Not a whole lot to say so I will hush.

Peace and blessings.
