Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello my friends!  Good to be back on the internet again.  Our whole apartment complex was out for the weekend.  What a blessing to be back on and back to normal again.  Went house shopping with Darla and Greg yesterday - they found the perfect house and made an offer - it's beautiful and nothing needs to be done!  Hope everything goes well and they get it.  Praying for all of you, always in my prayers. Thanks for your prayers for us which is very much appreciated.  God bless you all!  Do you have some blessings to share?

Stay close to God because He is the solution to all problems.  Lord, I will
live in Your presence, protected by You and Your peace will be mine.

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and
I will give you rest."  ~Matthew 11:28

"Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and
I will give you rest."  For rest from the cares of life, we can turn to
God each day in prayer and communion.  Real relaxation and serenity come
from a deep sense of the fundamental goodness of the universe.  God's
everlasting arms are underneath all and can support us.  We can commune
with God, not so much for petitions to be granted as for the rest that
comes from our relying on God's will and God's purposes for our lives.
We can be sure of God's strength available to us, and conscious of God's
support.  We can wait quietly until that true rest from God fills our
being.

I pray that I may be conscious of God's support today.  I pray that I
may rest safe and sure therein.

A son and his father were walking in the mountains. Suddenly, his son
falls, hurts himself and screams: "AAAhhhhhhhhhhh! !!"

To his surprise, hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain:
"AAAhhhhhhhhhhh! !!"

Curious, he yells: "Who are you?"

He receives the answer: "Who are you?"

Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!"

He receives the answer: "Coward!"

He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?"

The father smiles and says: "My son, pay attention." And then he
screams to the mountain: "I admire you!"

The voice answers: "I admire you!"

Again the man screams: "You are a champion!"

The voice answers: "You are a champion!"

The boy is surprised, but does not understand. Then the father
explains: "People call this echo, but really this is life. It gives
you back everything you say or do. Our life is simply a reflection of
our actions. If you want more love in the world, create more love in
your heart. If you want more competence in your team, improve your
competence.

This relationship applies to everything, in all aspect of life; life
will give you back everything you have given to it."

A Light For God's House

In a mountain village in Europe a long time ago, a nobleman wondered what gift he could present to his townspeople. At last he decided to build them a church. No one saw the complete plans for the church until it was finished. When the people gathered, they marveled at it's beauty. Then someone asked, "But where are the lamps? How will it be lighted?"

The nobleman pointed to some brackets in the walls. Then he gave each family a lamp, asking them to bring these with them each time they came to worship.  "Each time you are in church, the area where you are seated will be lighted," the nobleman said. "Each time you are not here, that area will be dark. This is to remind you that whenever you fail to come to church, some part of God's house will be dark."

THE LORD'S TEST
Author Unknown

I woke up this morning and knew that today,
The sun would not be shining and the clouds would be gray.
As I stepped outside, rain fell upon my head.
My car wouldn't start so I walked to school instead.

I forgot all of my assignments
I failed all of my tests.
I dropped my head in disgust and asked the Lord for one request.
"Lord, why is it that things won't go my way?"

He gently replied, "Dear child it is because you didn't thank me
yesterday.
I woke you up and enabled you to see the sun again.
I gave you shelter, protected your family, and even let you make a
new friend.
I blessed you far greater than I ever had before.

But you were too busy to thank me once more.
You didn't feel sick because I maintained your health.
You had money in your pocket because I maintained your wealth.
You had shoes on you feet and clothes to wear, too.

You had plenty of food to eat and what did you do?
You ignored me and went about your tasks.
But when you wanted something you never hesitated to ask.
I was there when you needed me and that wasn't too long ago.

But when things started going your way, it was me you did not know.
As if that weren't enough, I provided your favorite luxuries.
This was something I didn't have to do-they weren't even necessities.
And when it was time to get on your knees and show your gratitude,

You decided that after such a fulfilling day, you weren't in the
mood.
So I decided to give you just a little test.
To show you how it would feel to stop being blessed."
I began to realize what the Lord was saying..

He said, "My child, you have learned and you know I do forgive.
But remember to remember this day as long as you shall live.
I love filling your life with joy, and your pain I'll alleviate it.
But just a simple thank you would show how much you appreciate it."

October 12 - Jesus Calling

Beware of seeing yourself through other people’s eyes. There are several dangers to this practice. First of all, it is nearly impossible to discern what others actually think of you. Moreover, their views of you are variable: subject to each viewer’s spiritual, emotional, and physical condition. The major problem with letting others define you is that it borders on idolatry. Your concern to please others dampens your desire to please Me, your Creator.

It is much more real to see yourself through My eyes. My gaze upon you is steady and sure, untainted by sin. Through My eyes you can see yourself as one who is deeply, eternally loved. Rest in My loving gaze, and you will receive deep Peace. Respond to My loving Presence by worshiping Me in spirit and in truth.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. —Hebrews 11:6

“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” —John 4:23–24

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello To All!

Hello Gloria, glad you're back.  The inter-net makes it so easy to keep in touch.  Sure will keep your daughter and son-in-law in my highest thoughts for that house they want.  Great that Linus was accepted.  Your blessings are plenty.  Posts are being redirected to many other forums and that includes Among Friends.  Folks are wondering where their threads went.

Blessings - learning things at my spiritual center which help me to understand some events in my life both present and past. Making new acquaintances.

I am feeling so very blessed.  I appreciate all this nation has and represents.  It is good.

Be at peace and know you are loved.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Love Roses - thanks for your post! That's for sure that the net makes it easy to keep in touch. Thanks for your prayers!

Being without internet for the weekend wasn't that bad - we did other things, and that was good too.  We rely upon it too much, don't we?

I didn't know that about posts being redirected - makes thing more confusing then.
