Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello my friends!  Today we've had some morning rain, and the rest of the day sunshine and wind.  It's warm out, so that's good.  Linus took some things that we're clearing out to a thrift store, and coming out, all of a sudden there was this car that wasn't there before, and he hit it!  Not much damage, going very slow, but still an accident.  The blessing is that no one was hurt, but needless to say shook up.  He hit a lady we knew well in our other town!  How weird!  I feel so blessed by all of you, my friends!! I do wish I could put a longer post up, but guess that won't work anymore.  But as long as the inspirations get there and are read and God can work through them, that's all I need to do.  May God be Glorified and Praised!

There is much wisdom in knowing what to overlook.  Lord, may I take
every opportunity to praise and choose carefully when I feel the need
to criticize.

"So we have known and believe the love that God has for us. God is love,
and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them."
~John 4:16

A consciousness of God's presence as one who loves us can make all life
different.  The consciousness of God's love can promote the opening of
our whole being to God.  It can bring wonderful relief from the cares
and worries of our daily lives.  Relief can bring peace and peace can
bring contentment.  We can try to walk in God's love.  We can have a
contentment that no one can take from us.  We can feel sure of God's
unfailing love and care for us and for all God's children.  There is
freedom and serenity in those who walk in God's love, held safe in God's
loving care.

I pray that I may walk in God's love.  I pray that, as I go, I may feel
the spring of God's power in my steps and the joy of God's love in my
heart.

THE SILVERSMITH
Author Unknown

Some time ago, a few ladies met in a certain city to study the
scriptures.  While reading the third chapter of Malachi, they came
upon a remarkable  expression in the third verse:

"And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver (Malachi 3:3)"

One lady proposed to visit a silversmith, and report to them on what
he said  about the subject. She went accordingly, and without telling
the object of  her errand, begged the silversmith to tell her about
the process of refining  silver.

After he had fully described it to her, she asked, "But Sir, do you
sit  while the work of refining is going on?"

"Oh, yes madam," replied the silversmith; "I must sit with my eyes
steadily  fixed on the furnace, for if the time necessary for refining
be exceeded in  the slightest degree, the silver will be injured."

The lady at once saw the beauty, and comfort too, of the expression,
"He  shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver." God sees it
needful to put  His children into a furnace; His eye is steadily
intent on the work of
purifying, and His wisdom and love are both engaged in the best
manner for  us. Our trials do not come at random, and He will not let
us be tested beyond what we can endure.

Before she left, the lady asked one final question, "When do you know
the  process is complete?"

"Why, that is quite simple," replied the silversmith. "When I can see
my own  image in the silver, the refining process is finished."

New Beginnings

1. Make good the promises you have made to our

Heavenly Father.

2. Pray the Rosary often!!!

3. Let go of past problems - live today

4. Spend some time every day in quiet meditation

5. Do something every day that gives you pleasure

6. Work on the things that cause you the most distress

7. Give thanks every day for something - starting

with being thankful for the new day

8. Remember there is no one exactly like you - you

are unique - Only our Heavenly Father and you
truly knows you

9. Accept yourself as you are

10. Start by loving yourself

This prayer was found in the fiftieth year of Our Lord Jesus Christ. In the 1500s, it was sent by the Pope to Emperor Charles when he was going into battle.

Whoever reads this prayer or hears it or carries it, will never die a sudden death, nor be drowned, nor will poison take effect of them. They will not fall into the hands of the enemy nor be burned in any fire, nor will they be defeated in battle.

Make this prayer known everywhere.

Glory Be To Jesus and Mary

A letter written by the Blessed Virgin Mary to the City of Messina where St. Paul, the Apostle preached the gospel, which has been preserved in the Reliquary of the great altar.

"I, Mary Virgin, servant of God, very humble Mother of Jesus Christ, Son of God, the Almighty and Eternity, to all who are in Messina, health and benediction in Our Lord. You have learned by the ambassadors who have been sent to you. You received the gospel and you acknowledged that the Son of God has become man, and has suffered the passion and death for the salvation of the world, and that He is Christ and also the true Messiah. I beseech you to persevere, promising to you, and all your posterity, to assist you in the presence of My Son."

(Great graces are given to those who carry a copy of this letter.)

Mary Virgin, very humble servant of God

June 22 - Jesus Calling

“THANK ME for the very things that are troubling you.  You are on the brink of rebellion, precariously close to shaking your fist in My face.  You are tempted to indulge in just a little complaining of My treatment of you.  But once you step over that line, torrents of rage and self-pity can sweep you away.  The best protection against this indulgence is thanksgiving.  It is impossible to thank Me and curse Me at the same time.

Thanking Me for trials will seem awkward and contrived at first.  But if you persist, your thankful words, prayed in faith, will eventually make a difference in your heart.  Thankfulness awakens you to My Presence, which overshadows all your problems.”

Psalm 116:17 (NKJV) – I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving, And will call upon the name of the Lord.

Philippians 4:4-6 – Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!  Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.  Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Harlene - That was a blessing to be sure that neither Linus or the other person were hurt - both were driving very slow.  The bad thing is that our ins. will go up no doubt.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Gloria,  I hope the damage was very small to both cars. It's good they both were going so slowly. It would be nice if you'd hear news from Darla. I know you must be getting anxious. Praying for you and yours. Yesterday seemed to be an especially nice day outside. We stayed in the 70's, so it was very comfortable. It seemed especially peaceful outside, and  even the reflection of the trees in the water on the lake seemed particularly striking while I took a walk. Just awhile later I sat on the swing and listened to the quiet and the birds. Such a beautiful day filled with peace, and on my part, much gratitude for being here to see it.

Hello to Harlene, Julie, and all who post or read here. I have my volunteer work today, and hope things go well. I'm not there very long, but it seems to help no matter how long I stay, and it's nice to spend time with the ladies and  focus on something different for awhile. Hope everyone has a great day! pinky
