Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Hello my friends!  Will be gone until Monday - visiting my sister, a Franciscan nun, and going to a Wedding in that town, and taking two other of my sisters along - so it'll be busy and a long drive.  Pray for our safe travels.  So far the weather seems nice. We went swimming this morning again - felt good to be in the pool and hot tub!  That's my blessings for today, among others.

Anyone still want to share their blessings here? All are welcome.

There is always something to thank God for.  Lord, may my attitude of

gratitude last a lifetime.

"O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love
endures forever."  ~Psalm 106:1

Gratitude to God is the theme of Thanksgiving Day.  The pilgrims
gathered to give thanks to God for their harvest which was pitifully
small.  When we look around at all the things we have today, how can we
help being grateful to God?  Our families, our homes, our friends; all
these things are free gifts of God to us.  "But for the grace of God,"
we would not have them. God gives us this day too, to rest and to give
thanks.

I pray that I may be very grateful today.  I pray that I may not forget
where I might be but for the grace of God.

Open our heart, O Lord

Lord Jesus, teach me to welcome you in the stranger and the needy.

Help me not to lose sight of you in my daily work of service for others.

Let me always act with justice, speaking the truth, and doing no wrong to others. I know I can forget you in the busy-ness of life.

Let me make space in my  life for listening to the Word, a time in each day for Scripture reading.
So may I live in the presence of my Lord all the days of my life. Amen.

SPECIAL BEATITUDES

SPECIAL BEATITUDES for those who work with special people

BLESSED ARE YOU who take time to listen to difficult speech
FOR YOU help us know that if we persevere, we can be understood.

BLESSED ARE YOU who walk with us in public places and ignore the
stares of strangers,
FOR in your companionship, we find havens of relaxation.

BLESSED ARE YOU who never bid us "hurry up" and more blessed, you who
do not snatch our tasks from our hands to do them for us
FOR often we need time rather than help.

BLESSED ARE YOU who stand beside us as we enter new and untried
ventures,
FOR our failures will be outweighed by times when we surprise
ourselves and you.

BLESSED ARE YOU who ask for our help
FOR our greatest need is to be needed.

BLESSED ARE YOU who help us with the graciousness of Christ.
FOR oftentimes we need the help we cannot ask for.

BLESSED ARE YOU when, by all these things you assure us that the thing
that makes us individuals is not in our peculiar muscles, not in our
wounded nervous systems, nor in our difficulties in learning
BUT in the God-given self which no infirmity can confine.

REJOICE AND BE EXCEEDINGLY GLAD, and know that you give us
reassurances that could never be spoken in words,
FOR you deal with us as Christ dealt with all His children.

You cannot do kindness too soon,
for you never know how soon it will be too late.

Each day, rise, shine and sparkle,
and you'll make the whole world a much brighter place.

I'll go through another door or
I'll create a door.

October 14 - Jesus Calling

Be prepared to suffer for Me, in My Name. All suffering has meaning in My kingdom. Pain and problems are opportunities to demonstrate your trust in Me. Bearing your circumstances bravely—even thanking Me for them—is one of the highest forms of praise. This sacrifice of thanksgiving rings golden-toned bells of Joy throughout heavenly realms. On earth also, your patient suffering sends out ripples of good tidings in ever-widening circles.

When suffering strikes, remember that I am sovereign and that I can bring good out of everything. Do not try to run from pain or hide from problems. Instead, accept adversity in My Name, offering it up to Me for My purposes. Thus, your suffering gains meaning and draws you closer to Me. Joy emerges from the ashes of adversity through your trust and thankfulness.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. —James 1:2–4

Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men. Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy. —Psalm 107:21–22
